Star Wars Reveals Princess Leia’s Pregnancy Amid Han Solo’s Mysterious Absence in Battle of Jakku Series

Marvel’s Star Wars comics are diving deeper into the timeline after Return of the Jedi. In the new Battle of Jakku series, we learn that Princess Leia is pregnant with her son, Ben Solo. Her growing baby bump takes center stage in the latest issue, leaving us wondering about Han Solo’s whereabouts, especially since he’s been missing in action since the start of the series.

In Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Last Stand (2024) #1, Leia is shown walking on Chandrila with a noticeable pregnancy belly. While she’s in the spotlight, she isn’t alone—Leia has an escort named Timra Ariz, assigned to keep her and the baby safe.

Still, fans can’t help but question: where is Han Solo during all this? The comic has yet to answer that, leaving us anxious to learn where the father of the child is after the events of Endor.

Leia and Han have always been good at different things. Han was always the hands-on guy, excelling at smuggling and missions for the Rebellion and later the New Republic. Leia, on the other hand, was the politician who focused on ensuring the New Republic was well-established.

Their paths began to separate after the formation of the New Republic, though their bond never truly broke. In the canon story, Han and Leia didn’t truly split until their son, Ben, turned to the Dark Side. After that, their roles in the New Republic kept them apart.

The novel Aftermath: Life Debt by Chuck Wendig gives us a clue as to where Han was during this time. He was on a mission to help Chewbacca liberate his homeworld of Kashyyyk.

This mission, however, leads to trouble, and in Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Republic Under Siege #1, Leia learns that Han and Chewbacca are now missing. This explains Han’s absence in the Battle of Jakku series up until now. We know that Han isn’t gone forever—he’s set to return soon.

It looks like Han Solo will be back in Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Last Stand #2, as he is featured on the cover. This suggests that Han, Leia, and Luke Skywalker will reunite in upcoming issues.

Han’s return is likely to bring comfort to Leia, especially as she faces the stress of carrying Ben Solo, the future Kylo Ren. Although their marriage faced challenges, Han was never the kind of father to abandon his son, even when things got tough.

However, Han and Leia’s parenting choices were far from perfect. One decision that haunted them both was sending Ben away to train with Luke Skywalker at his Jedi temple. They hoped it would give him a better future, but in reality, it allowed Ben to fall into the Dark Side.

This decision drove a wedge between the couple and contributed to their eventual separation, a rift that wouldn’t heal until their reunion in The Force Awakens. The upcoming years will surely be tough for Han and Leia as they face the impact of Ben’s fall, and their relationship will never be the same after that.

Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Last Stand #1 is now available from Marvel Comics, and if you’re following the series, you won’t want to miss where this story goes next. With Han’s return just around the corner, we can expect the Original Trilogy trio to be back together once more—but things won’t be easy.
