Jac Schaeffer, a name well-known in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is set to direct the opening episode of the highly anticipated series ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.’ This series, a spin-off from the popular ‘WandaVision,’ is expected to hit Disney+ in late 2024. Schaeffer, who has already left her mark with projects like ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Black Widow,’ is bringing her unique storytelling to this new venture.

‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ revolves around the character Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, who was first introduced in ‘WandaVision.’ The series picks up with Harkness finding herself powerless and seeking help from unlikely allies to regain her former powers. Joining Hahn in the cast are Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley. The show promises a mix of mystery, magic, and character-driven drama.

Jacqueline Schaeffer, born on October 26, 1978, has built an impressive career in filmmaking. Her journey started in Agoura Hills, California, where she grew up inspired by filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Schaeffer’s academic path took her from Princeton University, where she majored in English, to the USC School of Cinematic Arts for her MFA. It’s interesting to note that her first feature film, ‘TiMER’, was a science fiction romantic comedy that debuted in 2009.
