James Gunn Confirms ‘Creature Commandos’ Will Have a Post-Credits Scene

The first season of Creature Commandos is wrapping up, and James Gunn is following the Marvel Cinematic Universe trend by adding a post-credits scene in the finale.

Creature Commandos kicked off the new DC Universe on December 5 and received an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes at launch. This animated series, which follows Amanda Waller’s monster-filled squad, has been releasing episodes weekly.

As of now, six episodes are out, and the seventh episode is set for January 9, which will conclude the first season. So far, none of the episodes have included post-credits scenes. However, James Gunn confirmed that the final episode will break that pattern.

When asked on Threads if the finale would feature a post-credits scene, Gunn responded with a simple ‘Yes.‘ This marks the first time a DCU project will include a post-credits scene:

While post-credits scenes are usually linked to the MCU, previous DC films like Suicide Squad, Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam!, and Black Adam also had them. Unfortunately, not all those scenes led to follow-up stories.

There’s speculation about what the post-credits scene in Creature Commandos will show. It might be a fun standalone moment or a hint at what’s coming in the confirmed second season.

Based on Gunn’s comments about the upcoming Superman movie having a post-credits scene purely for fun, it’s likely this one will follow the same idea, avoiding dead-end setups.

Fans are already guessing about possible Easter eggs. Could it hint at the return of the Tin Man, or maybe a nod to David Corenswet’s upcoming Superman? Until January 9, we’re left to wonder.
