Remember Jonathan Majors? The up-and-coming star who was supposed to play Kang in the MCU and be the franchise’s “next Thanos”? The actor was recently convicted of physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, for which he was sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program. Majors was dropped from numerous roles and projects as his career fell down the drain.

And while he seems to be mounting what some might call a comeback, the role of Kang will definitely not go back to him. And while the MCU people have seemingly moved away from the role altogether, as some recent reports suggest, one recent “incident” served as a solid reality check for MCU fans that the world is not revolving solely around them.

Namely, while the role of Kang was rumored to be replaced with a new actor, one of the names that consistently kept popping up was that of Star Wars alum John Boyega. The actor was prompted to accept the role by a fan online but rejected it, and that seems to have confused the fans of the MCU.

Long story short, Jonathan Majors appeared as Kang the Conqueror in several MCU projects and he was slated to reprise his role in Secret Wars, where he was supposed to be the main villain. But, after his domestic abuse scandal and conviction, Majors was fired from the role. At the time, Marvel was reportedly looking to recast the role, with several actors being proposed, including John Boyega. Boyega was the right age, and he could elegantly take over the role, which is why one fan prompted him to contact the people in Marvel to take the role:

As you can see, the actor was not interested in the role and it has, in the meantime, been confirmed that Boyeda will not, in fact, be playing Kang. The actor was quite clear and the reaction was, to be honest, hilarious. On the other hand, this is his right and if Boyega does not want to play a particular MCU role or join the MCU at all, that is his decision and it has to be respected.

But, what turned out is that some MCU fans simply don’t understand this and that this situation came as a very negative reality check for them, as they seemingly realized that the world does not revolve around them or the MCU:
