Whilst in jail, the reason for her ending up there begins to unravel as her father comes to meet her and inform her of what is happening. Jolyne and her newfound friends must survive attacks from other stand users and escape this prison they call Stone Ocean.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Characters

With the trailer for Stone Ocean, the world was introduced to the major cast in Stone Ocean:

Jolyne Cujoh

The main protagonist of Stone Ocean and the first and only female Jojo in the entire series. In prison for being falsely accused of an accident she did not commit, though this so-called accident was a ploy to lure out Jotaro Kujo to the prison. Her Stand’s name is Stone Free.

Stone Free

The humanoid stand of Jolyne Cujoh which she gains after being pricked by the pendant her father left her that contained shards of the Stand Arrow that first appeared in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. Aside from being both strong and fast in close combat, It also uses strings when fighting.

Ermes Costello

A woman who voluntarily imprisoned herself in Green Dolphin Street Prison to seek revenge for her sister Gloria Costello’s killer, Sports Maxx, and soon allies herself with Jolyne Cujoh in the hostile environment that the jail is. Thanks to a certain pendant, Ermes acquires her Stand, Kiss.

Kiss is a powerful close-range Stand that compensates its short-range with its speed and physical strength, and its stickers whom Ermes uses cleverly, making it a good addition to Jolyne’s team. It also has duplicating stickers as its power. It places lip-designed stickers on objects, causing them to rapidly produce an exact copy of the original. This can also be used to create traps during fights with other stand users.

Foo Fighters

Shortened to F.F., is a sapient being consisting of plankton. She is her Stand, with the ability to control the plankton colony as one being or individually, as well as the ability to seal wounds using plankton or possess someone’s body, the latter of which she uses to assume the appearance of a deceased prisoner named Atroe.

Emporio Alnino

Emporio is a boy born to an unknown inmate in Green Dolphin Street Jail. His Stand, Burning Down the House, manifests in the form of a ghost room that he secretly lives in, together with Weather Report and Narciso Anasui.

Burning Down the House

The stand of 11-year-old Emporio Alnino. It is a bound stand and it cannot be used for combat. It has the power to make him see and use the ghostly objects and items allows him to assist Jolyne throughout the Stone Ocean.

Weather Report

Renamed Weather forecast in the animated trailer. Raised as Wes Bluemarine, is an amnesiac inmate who aides Jolyne at Emporio’s request. With no memory of his true name, he goes by the name of his Stand, which allows him to manipulate the weather and the atmosphere. So as not to spoil who he is, just search him on Google.

His stand can like its namesake, control the weather. It can summon wind, rain, and even lightning. It also has an unleashed form named Heavy Weather that has the power to turn anyone into snails when they come in contact with his rainbows.

Narciso Anasui

Renamed Narciso Anastasia in the animated trailer. An inmate in Green Dolphin Street Prison falls in love with Jolyne Cujoh and decides to help her with defeating Enrico Pucci. Anasui is a Stand User who wields Diver Down in battle.

Diver Down

A powerful Close range stand that can decapitate someone with a single chop. When Diver Down hits something with a punch or a kick, the force of the impact is “stored” inside the object. Whenever Anasui wills it, the accumulated energy can be released outside of the object in the form of Diver Down’s corresponding limb punching or kicking from inside the object. Diver Down’s signature ability is to phase through solids and then freely change their insides.

Jotaro Kujo

A returning character from both Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable. He is the Father of Jolyne Cujoh and the main target of DIO’s loyalist Enrico Pucci. Without giving away the plot of Stone Ocean let’s just say that Enrico needs something from Jotaro to complete DIO’s mission for him. His stand name is Star Platinum. Although much weaker than when in his prime (his time on Stardust Crusaders), He was able to extend the Time stop ability to the original 5 seconds during the face-off at Cape Canaveral.

Star Platinum: The World

A humanoid stand that is very fast and powerful at close-range combat. Though slightly underpowered when compared to its time during Stardust Crusaders, it still has the time stop ability that it learned from the fight with DIO.

Enrico Pucci

A loyalist of DIO (the enemy of the Joestar bloodline since Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood) that aims to finish DIO’s dream to “Achieve Heaven”. He is the Roman Catholic priest and Jolyne’s Warden of the Green Dolphin Street Jail. He alongside Johngalli A orchestrate the early events of Stone Ocean so they can land Jolyne on Green Dolphin Street Jail and eventually get revenge on their true target, Jotaro Kujo. His stand is named Whitesnake. He is the main antagonist of Stone Ocean.

A long-distance stand was used by Enrico Pucci. Whitesnake possesses an extended range (about 20 meters), allowing its user, Enrico Pucci, to act undetected within the boundaries of Green Dolphin Street Prison. Whitesnake can produce an acid that slowly digests objects like stomach acid. Living targets hit with this are distracted in a delusional dream state. Whitesnake’s primary ability is to manipulate spirits through the use of special DISCS. He can extract a memory disc and stand disc from his targets. By using the stand discs, he can embed the disc into another person’s head which allows the said person the ability to use the stand from the stand disc.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Trailer

Let us break down the trailer for Stone Ocean. It is the year 2011 and it’s set in America. It starts with Jolyne on the highway and it looks like they ran over a pedestrian. She is sentenced to 15 years in Green Dolphin Street Prison during her trial at court. The cell next to her houses Ermes Costello and it shows that she is teaching Jolyne how to survive in prison. He is warned by a kid wearing a baseball uniform sporting a baseball and glove that there is someone who will come to see you and that she absolutely must not go to the visiting room.

There, she is given what looks like a charm (it is the pendant that houses the shards of the Stand Arrow) and is pricked by its contents when she opens it. The item was left for her by her father. This scene also revealed her to be the protagonist of Stardust Crusaders, Jotaro Kujo. We are then shown the cast of heroes that will join Jolyne in escaping the prison. Like all of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures, it shows the bizarre events happening in the prison.

Jotaro also shows a picture of who orchestrated the accident that led to Jolyne ending up in prison (He sports the same clothes as Johngalli A). The trailer shows a thread sprouting out of Jolyne’s hand which is her stand’s ability. It also shows Ermes with the pendant with the fragments of the standing arrow. As shown from Diamond is Unbreakable, A person injured by a Stand Arrow can either gain a Stand or die due to incompatibility. Jojo goes to the prison to bust his daughter out.
