Peacock has ordered a new crime drama series called Superfakes. The show comes from creator Alice Ju, who will also serve as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie are on board as executive producers, along with Howard Klein and Olivia Gerke of 3 Arts.

Other executive producers include Ronald Bronstein and Eli Bush. The show is produced by A24 and UCP.

The plot of Superfakes revolves around a small-time counterfeit dealer in Chinatown. She gets tangled in a dangerous black-market world while trying to secure a better, more respectable life for her family in the suburbs.

Alice Ju, who was part of the Emmy-winning team behind Beef on Netflix, has an impressive background. She has also written for Poker Face and Russian Doll, and worked on The Other Two and Fantasmas.

The Safdie brothers, known for their work with A24, most recently teamed up with the studio on The Curse for Showtime. Benny Safdie also worked as the co-creator and showrunner of that show.

Fans of Uncut Gems may recognize their signature style, as they directed that hit film too. Currently, Benny is preparing for his upcoming film The Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The series Superfakes is shaping up to be an exciting crime drama, combining the talents of some big names in TV and film.
