At the same time, this isn’t the only record the movie is breaking as Jujutsu Kaisen is the second only to Demon Slayer Mugen Train that was premiered at the end of 2020. The movie premiered on December 24th, and after less than a week generated nearly 34 million US dollars in sales, equivalent to 3.9 billion yen.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 also made the manga more popular as the manga showed 10 times greater sales after the first week of the movie screening in Japan. A detail that might have pushed thousands of fans who watched the movie to buy the manga, could have been the Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5 booklet featuring 9 pages of art and panels that were never published in the prequel on which the movie is based.
