'Jujutsu Kaisen' Officially Becomes the World's Most Popular Anime!

Of course, we knew that Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is popular. Both the manga and the anime have become classics around the world, and while the current manga storyline has been received with significant backlash, the anime seems to be better with each season. The series is currently on a break ahead of its upcoming third season, which is set to enter the realm of the Culling Game Arc, but news of Jujutsu Kaisen‘s success keeps coming as the anime has officially been named as the most popular anime in the world, dethroning former title holders Attack on Titan and One Piece.

This information has been confirmed by several outlets, although we have to explain that this data changes constantly and that Jujutsu Kaisen will have a tough job maintaining the first spot in the upcoming years.

The information comes based on the data received from Parrot Analytics, which monitors the impact and demand of these shows. The company does a very thorough job, employing a very sophisticated method to quantify the “demand” that there is for a series, taking into account factors such as audience attention, engagement, desire, and viewership. The method is based on a very large number of data, which is why it is so reliable, as it considers numbers related to video consumption (streaming and downloads), social media interactions (hashtags, likes, shares), and research activities (such as reading about a show on IMDb).

As it stands, the second season increased the “demand” an incredible 128 times than before, which is absolutely amazing. What has to be considered here is that the show is also extremely popular with younger Gen Z viewers, who now consider it their favorite show. With a 71.3% viewership, Jujutsu Kaisen has surpassed both One Piece (56.7% Gen Z viewership) and Attack on Titan (64.4% Gen Z viewership).

This doesn’t really come as a surprise, as Jujutsu Kaisen is a truly great series. This is all we have for you here, but be sure to keep following for more updates on the series.
