Jujutsu Kaisen: What International Fandom Can Expect from the Movie

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie has made quite an impact on the Japanese audience even though the film story plot is not following Yuji Itadori and his supernatural experiences as seen in the first season of the anime series. However, the fans had a chance to see some of the characters that were featured in the first season, like Gojo for example. Following a prequel story penned by mangaka Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is following the story of Yuuta Okkotsu and his very own supernatural encounters.

Yuuta Okkotsu enrolls in the Jujutsu Tokyo High – Metropolitan Curse Technical College, in search of solutions for his problem – Yuuta has been haunted by his friend’s Rita’s cursed spirit ever since she died in an accident. The movie is also said to tease season 2 while featuring some characters that don’t appear in the original prequel story.

While it is yet uncertain when the western audiences will have a chance to see the movie, while that would most probably happen sometime in 2022, the Japanese audience shared some screenshots from the movie, showing the international audience what they can expect from the movie, including characters and some of the big fights. You can also expect to see Gojo in a slightly different edition than seen with the appearance of Yuji Itadori.

Yuuta Okkotsu is a Jujutsu sorcerer, battling the tragicness of his own powers that are as strong as they are troubling. The western fandom can expect a new insight into the world of mangaka’s creepy curses and supernatural battles. The second season is less likely to happen before the movie reaches the west, but there is a strong chance that the series will be renewed for another season given its popularity.

Manga fans can still follow with weekly chapters published by Shonen Weekly Magazine. The second season will most certainly be back with Yuji Itadori as he embarks on more supernatural adventures, while you can follow up with weekly manga chapters as you are waiting for the movie to hit international theatres.
