Kevin Costner's 'Horizon: An American Saga' Reveals New Trailer Ahead of Tomorrow's Cannes Premiere

Kevin Costner is one of the most recognizable names in the movie industry, without a doubt. He has starred in numerous movies, including The Untouchables, JKF, The Bodyguard, and others, but it seems that was Kevin Costner really likes is the western genre. He starred in Wyatt Earp, directed and starred in Dances with Wolves, which earned him two Oscars, and starred in the western series Hatfields & McCoys and Yellowstone, and he is currently working on a four-part movie series, Horizon: An American Saga, which is going to be set in the Civil War era, and we have just received confirmation of the first film’s epic runtime. The movie is set to premiere on May 19, 2024 at the Cannes Film Festival, and ahead of the premiere, a new official trailer has been revealed!

In short, Kevin Costner is directing, starring, and co-writing the saga, with Jon Baird joining him as co-writer. The whole series is planned to consist of four epic films exploring the expansion of the American West, with the first two premiering this year, while the third and fourth movies don’t have a release date just yet. Chapter 1 is set for a June 28, 2024 global release and has a reported runtime of 181 minutes.

As you can see, there are many new scenes in the trailer that reveal the overall atmosphere of the movie, as well as the characters. From what we can deduce, the movie truly does look like a passion project for Costner, but we will know more after the first reviews come in tomorrow.
