Kevin Feige Confirms Upcoming ‘Avengers’ Movies Will Lead into the X-Men Stories

After Disney’s acquisition of Fox, everyone knew that the Mutants, including the X-Men, would be coming to the MCU. Even while Deadpool & Wolverine contributed a little to that integration, and Mutants have already appeared in the MCU, everyone is eagerly awaiting these crucial characters’ official MCU debut, which is sure to be epic, as everyone has promised!
As of the time of writing, we don’t know much, though. Feige and Marvel are still keeping their mouths shut, which resulted in a series of more or less reliable rumors about how the Mutants, especially the X-Men, would be integrated into the MCU, as it has to be done brilliantly.
And while we’re still waiting for a proper plan, it seems that Feige has given us something to nibble on while we’re waiting. In a recent interview, he discussed the difference between working on Endgame and Secret Wars, and – surprise, surprise – the X-Men ended up being mentioned there! How? Keep reading to find out!
The X-Men are one of Marvel’s biggest assets in general, as you can assume. At this point, we still don’t know what is going to happen with them in the MCU, but they are coming. There have been numerous rumors – from Jackman and Stewart returning to reprise their roles on a more permanent basis, via McAvoy being called in as well, to Marvel looking for a completely new cast for the characters – but nothing official has been revealed.
And while the interview we are about to show you is nothing official either when Kevin Feige says it, you can treat it as an official announcement by Marvel Studios, which is why this statement has a lot of weight and why we decided to share it with you here in this report. So, here is the interview in question:
The interview as a whole is interesting so we advise you to watch it whole, but the main moments comes around 4:20, when Feige says this about the difference between Endgame and Secret Wars: “What’s fun this time is… now we know very much what the grand storyline is leading up to Secret Wars, but also beyond… like The X-Men.”
Oh, yes! This is the confirmation we’ve been waiting for and we’ve wanted to hear! Absolutely!
The upcoming Avengers movies are going to change a lot and will have a major impact on the MCU going forward, and it seems that they are going to be related – directly at that – to the upcoming X-Men stories, so we are more than excited to see what Marvel has in store for us in the future, as it seems great from where we’re standing.
