Kevin Feige Reveals How ‘Picard’ Will Help Shape MCU’s Next Big Show

Star Trek is one of the best-known and most beloved science-fiction franchises of all time. The series, when it originally began, was a pioneering show that was both commercially successful and became a cult classic. It has garnered an impressive following and the Star Trek fandom is one of the largest and most devoted ones out there.
But, aside from us “common folk,” the franchise also has a lot of fans among the members of the film industry, and Kevin Feige is one of them. Feige is the guy whose creative ideas and guidance helped shape the MCU. He is the one who defined the current brand of superhero movies, and that is why his opinion always matters.
In light of this, Feige has recently revealed some interesting information about the relationship between MCU’s next big TV series and the Star Trek franchise, which is a very interesting one if Feige’s recent reports are to be believed.
The news concerns Marvel’s upcoming Vision series, which is currently scheduled for a 2026 release date, although not much is known about the series at this point in time. We know that Paul Bettany is coming back as the titular hero, who has been resurrected in the MCU, and that the series will focus on his new adventures. At this point, nothing else is known, but based on Feige’s statements, we might have an idea of the direction the series is heading in.
Namely, we know that the showrunner for Vision will be Terry Matalas, who was in charge of the critically acclaimed Picard series, a recent iteration of the franchise that saw Patrick Stewart return to one of his most famous roles. Feige saw Picard, and he was amazed by it, as he himself said to Inversion:
“That’s how I got to know him. It was from his amazing [work on Picard Season 3. I said: This is incredible. I don’t know how this exists. Let me find the person who made this.”
Feige is, as we have stated above, a major Star Trek fan, and it doesn’t surprise us that he was so amazed by this great series. Knowing Matalas’ work on Picard, we might assume the general stylistic direction that the series is going to head in if Matalas decides to keep the same approach he had with Picard. Of course, the two series are going to be vastly different, don’t think otherwise, but Matalas might just keep the general concept, which will mean that Vision will be a high-quality show that we will enjoy.
Of course, this is all we have for you at this point, but we are going to keep following up on this story, so be sure to stick with us for more news and updates!
