Key Details and Visuals Revealed for Upcoming ‘Peter Pan’ Series
Peter Pan has always been the boy who never grows up, but what happens when everything around him starts to? And while this has been a question that many works have explored, a new series will once again provide us with an answer.
Namely, the above-posed question is the question at the heart of The Last Boy, a new five-issue comic series from BOOM! Studios. Written by Dan Panosian with art by Alessio Avallone, this story takes us beyond Peter’s familiar adventures into a world where even Neverland feels the weight of time.
While Peter has stayed the same, his friends and enemies haven’t. Captain Hook appears older, Wendy Darling is grown, and the rest of Peter’s companions have moved on. These changes make Peter’s refusal to grow up stand out more than ever.
The series explores how Peter clings to his eternal youth, even as it creates challenges for him and those around him. Wendy, too, has her own struggles. She’s caught between the innocence of childhood and the realities of adulthood.
Her experiences in Neverland left her questioning what it means to grow up. Now, as she faces a much older Hook alongside Peter, the stakes feel higher, and the battle looks completely different.
Panosian, a lifelong fan of Peter Pan, brings a fresh take to the story, while Avallone’s artwork gives new life to this magical world. Together, they imagine what happens when Peter’s desire to stay the same might cost him everything, and here is a preview of the series and the characters:
The Last Boy #1 comes out on March 19, 2025. BOOM! Studios promises a bold and emotional journey that will challenge everything we know about Peter Pan and his refusal to change.
