'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' is Certirifed Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, Fans Also Satisfied!

The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally here, and both fans and critics have had the opportunity to voice their opinions on the movie and will be able to do it in the upcoming weeks. The Planet of the Apes reboot franchise has been one of the most successful reboots in history, with the new trilogy becoming a critical and commercial success. Now, a new trilogy set 300+ years after the first one is in the works, and it seemed that 20th Century Studios was taking a big risk with this new trilogy, but as things stand now – the risk had paid off!

Namely, as per the earlier critics’ reviews, the film has already been Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with an 82% rating after 164 reviews. The fans are also very satisfied with the movie, as it seems, with the movie having an identical rating among fans as well.

This is certainly great news for the franchise, as the new trilogy is just starting, and with the original trilogy setting the bar very high, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes had to do well if the series wanted to have any prospects at a great future. The movie’s plot has officially been summarized as follows:

Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic, franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.”

The movie’s total runtime stands at 145 minutes (2 hours and 25 minutes), making it the longest movie in the whole franchise. Wes Ball directed the movie, taking over from Matt Reeves, who concluded the original trilogy with War, with Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison credited as writers. John Paesano composed the score for the movie.

Owen Teague stars in the movie as Noa, with Freya Allan appearing as Mae, Kevin Durand as Proximus Caesar, Peter Macon, Travis Jeffery as Anaya, Lydia Peckham as Soona, William H. Macy as Trevathan, and Neil Sandilands as Koro. On top of that, Eka Darville, Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi, Sara Wiseman, and Dichen Lachman are also part of the cast.

The movie is out and we will certainly be following its cinematic run, especially how it does on the box office, so if you want to know all the upcoming news and updates, be sure to keep following us for more information!
