The Planet of the Apes reboot franchise has been one of the most successful reboots in history, with the new trilogy becoming a critical and commercial success. We have already reported that a new sequel trilogy is being planned, starting with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which is set to be released next week. We have confirmed that the movie is premiering on May 10, 2024, with early screenings available starting on May 8, 2024. Now, as the premiere is just 10 days away, the studio behind the project has released the final trailer for the upcoming movie, which you will be able to see below.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be set in the same universe as the original trilogy led by Andy Serkis, but 300 years in the future, as the Apes have taken control of the planet. Humans still exist but are considered animals, more or less. Ceasar is a name from history, with Noa becoming the new protagonist of the series.

Before we actually tell you anything else, we have decided to start off with the trailer, which is truly great, so we want you to see it as soon as possible:

As we have said, the movie is coming next week and it has a reported runtime of 145 minutes (2 hours and 25 minutes), which will make it the longest movie in the whole franchise. Wes Ball is directing the movie, taking over from Matt Reeves, who concluded the original trilogy with War, with Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison credited as writers. John Paesano is composing the score for the movie.

Owen Teague will star in the movie as Noa, with Freya Allan appearing as Mae, Kevin Durand as Proximus Caesar, Peter Macon, Travis Jeffery as Anaya, Lydia Peckham as Soona, William H. Macy as Trevathan, and Neil Sandilands as Koro. On top of that, Eka Darville, Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi, Sara Wiseman, and Dichen Lachman have all been cast in undisclosed roles.

The official synopsis for the upcoming movie reveals the following:

Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic, franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

And this is all we have at this moment. The movie’s premiere is coming soon, so we will definitely keep updating you on the movie and its success at the box office, so be sure to keep following us for all the updates!
