KonoSuba focuses on Kazuma Sato, a Japanese shut-in who encounters the Goddess Aqua and is reborn in an MMORPG world following his tragic death. Kazuma is eventually intended to confront the Demon King, but his team-up with the absent-minded Aqua, explosion-obsessed wizard Megumin, and masochistic party member Darkness makes that objective appear too difficult for his dysfunctional group.
The anime’s third season is set to premiere in 2021, and we’ve gathered all the details we could find! There will be some spoilers ahead!
What Do We Have To Know About KonoSuba Anime?
Natsume Akatsuki’s KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! is a Japanese light novel series. Following his death, Kazuma Sat is transferred to a fantasy realm with MMORPG features, where he forms a dysfunctional adventure group with a deity, an archwizard, and a crusader.
Originally serialized as a web novel on Shsetsuka ni Nar between December 2012 and October 2013, KonoSuba was released as a printed light novel series by Kadokawa Shoten from October 2013 to May 2020 under the company’s Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko label. Kurone Mishima’s artwork complements the light novel series’ diverse narrative.
Kazuma Sat, a Japanese adolescent shut-in NEET, encounters a goddess named Aqua, who promises to reincarnate him in a different dimension with MMORPG features, where he may embark on adventures and combat monsters.
Despite being granted a superpowered object or ability to utilize in this new universe, Kazuma selects Aqua herself to join him in the village of Axel, immediately discovering her absent-mindedness to be less than useful. Aqua is unable to return to the afterlife until the Devil King is killed, so the two create a group and recruit two other members: an explosion-obsessed wizard named Megumin and a masochistic crusader named Darkness.
Koichi Kikuta and Momoka Komatsu animated the series, with the first contributing to odd-numbered episodes and the latter on even-numbered. While Komatsu’s character designs were more beautiful and closely mirrored those of the light novels, Kikuta based his designs on children’s programs like Pokémon since he believed KonoSuba’s plot was comparable to those seen in such shows.
KonoSuba Season 3: Release Date
More information On July 18, 2021, KonoSuba was revealed on the anime’s Twitter page.
The statement did not specify if this was the third season of KonoSuba or a related spin-off project like a second feature film, with further information to be released in a subsequent post.
Fans may be certain, though, that KonoSuba will return in some form – though they may have to wait a little longer, as the statement indicated that production was only just getting started.
Unless Studio Deen has been covertly working on a surprise release, KonoSuba season three will most certainly premiere in 2022 — and maybe even later if the project is a feature film.
Seasons one and two premiered in Japan in January 2016 and January 2017, respectively, alongside the film KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson will be released in August 2019.
KonoSuba Season 3: Trailer
KonoSuba Season 3: Plot
KonoSuba follows Kazuma Sat, a young kid who dies in a heart attack after saving a girl from an approaching vehicle. Upon his death, however, he is sent to a world resembling that of a role-playing game (RPG), where he quickly creates a dysfunctional group that includes goddess Aqua, wizard Megumin, and knight Darkness.
Given that the first two seasons and film adaptations covered the first five chapters of the light novel series, KonoSuba season three will most likely cover volumes six and seven.
Possible spoilers ahead – but in these chapters, Darkness leaves to marry a nobleman, potentially severing the misfit group of heroes for good.
As word of Kazuma’s triumphs over the Devil King spreads, he is living well with the prize money. This quickly piques The Crown’s interest, with Princess Iris requesting his assistance in apprehending The Chivalrous Thief Chris, who has stolen the empire’s treasure.
A fight with the Devil King’s army, on the other hand, ends in tragedy, and Kazuma is exiled in shame, separated from his group. The resurrected former gamer will then have to clear his identity while also uncovering a vast royal plot.
Season three will most likely center on Kazuma and Megumin’s blossoming romance, which was a major emphasis of the 2019 film.
KonoSuba Season 3: Cast
With the voice actors from Seasons 1 and 2 also appearing in the “KonoSuba” film, it’s fair to presume that they’d be back for a hypothetical Season 3. Jun Fukushima portrayed Kazuma, Sora Amamiya portrayed Aqua, Ai Kayano portrayed Darkness, and Rie Takahashi portrayed Megumin.
Rie Takahashi will play Megumin, Jun Fukushima will play Kazuma, Ai Kayano will play Darkness, Amamiya Ten will play Aqua, and Aki Toyosaki will play Yun Yun. Other celebrities may be added to the voice cast list for KonoSuba’s third season.
Kazuma is a 17-year-old game-obsessed shut-in who became one when his childhood buddy crushed his heart in middle school. On his way home from buying a video game, he tries to prevent a classmate from being hit by a slow-moving tractor that he misidentifies as a fast truck and dies from an extreme stress response. As a result, he is transported to a parallel universe and transformed into a role-playing game character.
He has average numbers in essential categories, but above-average intelligence and exceptionally high luck, neither of which is useful for explorers. Regardless, he becomes one and learns fundamental talents such as panty snatching, archery, monster detection, and magic. Kazuma is known as an “Adventurer” since he never picks a class and is able to learn basic abilities and spells that would normally be unique to a single class, and he learns to transcend the restrictions of his classless position by mixing skills and spells in unexpected ways.
Kazuma lusts for virtually every female he encounters, except Aqua, who, despite his recognition of their attractiveness, he can’t seem to get aroused about, even when he tries. While viewing Megumin solely as a child at the start of the series, he gradually falls in love with her and accepts her confession, establishing a state of more than friends, less than lovers.
Aqua is the water goddess that judges people and sends them to the RPG world until Kazuma takes her along with him when she irritates him by mocking his death. She is an enthusiastic and inattentive girl who enjoys receiving respect for her rank, particularly from her Axis sect, and she is easily offended and frequently tears.
She is powerful against demons and the undead as an archpriest and goddess, and she can revive recently departed individuals as well as purify water sources. Despite her excellent magic scores, her intelligence and luck are among the poorest.
Megumin is a 14-year-old archwizard from the Red Demons species, which consists of modified humans with dark brown hair, crimson eyes, high magical affinity, and chunibyo traits who wear an eye patch for cosmetic reasons.
Megumin only knows a single, very strong Explosion spell that depletes her mana and renders her incapacitated after a single use, and she refuses to acquire any other abilities. Prior to meeting Kazuma, she struggled to locate a party that would welcome her due to the power and ensuing consequences of the spell.
Darkness is an 18-year-old crusader with strong offensive and defense but a lack of precision in her assaults. She’s a masochist who fantasizes about getting ravaged by monsters or marrying an abusive husband. When difficulties involving her pals arise, she gets more serious. Her real name is Lalatina Dustiness Ford, and she is a noble from the powerful Dustiness family who became a crusader against her father’s desires.
