Riot Games has unveiled a fresh teaser for the upcoming League of Legends season, collaborating once more with Fortiche. The cinematic, titled ‘Welcome to Noxus,’ introduces us to various Noxian champions, including Mel from Piltover, who journeys to the Immortal Bastion seeking answers.

In this teaser, we witness intense confrontations: Katarina and Elise clash at an elegant Noxian ball, while Trundle and Darius engage in a fierce brawl in the icy Freljord. The cinematic concludes with leaders of the Black Rose plotting their next moves, hinting at deeper story developments.

The new season, launching on January 9, brings a Noxus-themed map, altering terrain and turrets to reflect the nation’s aesthetics. Additionally, a new skin line, the Masque of the Black Rose, features champions attending a grand dance ball, dramatically interrupted by Katarina. This suggests ongoing power struggles among Noxian elites.

Notably, LeBlanc and Vladimir appear at the end of the cinematic, albeit with different appearances from their in-game models. This might indicate upcoming visual updates for these champions. It also seems to confirm LeBlanc as the mysterious mage who confronted Mel in Arcane’s second season, suggesting the show’s events are integral to the game’s main storyline.

For those keen on delving deeper into the Black Rose and its connections to Arcane, Necrit offers an insightful video exploring the game’s complex lore.

As the season unfolds, we anticipate exploring more of Noxus and witnessing how these power struggles evolve. The narrative potential is vast, with elements like Mordekaiser hidden within the Immortal Bastion, Swain’s pact with the demon Raum, and Darius’s campaigns in the Freljord.

The new League of Legends season is scheduled to begin on January 9 at 12:00 PM PST (3:00 PM EST).
