‘Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story’ Final Season Delayed for 2022
In the past two years, news of delayed anime production has become a common occurrence, and it seems it’s claimed another victim. As stated on the Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story official site and Twitter page, the final season, which was scheduled to air at the end of 2021, has been delayed for the Spring 2022 anime season.
Based on a Japanese RPG game with the same title, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story follows the story of Iroha Tamaki, a kind-hearted middle schooler from Takarazaki City who, armed with a magical crossbow and healing capabilities, seeks out labyrinths where witches hide and defeats them before they can bring harm to humans.
Although it would be optimistic to say that the spin-off had the same level of success as the original Puella Magi Madoka Magica that aired back in 2021, fans of the franchise are sure to be disappointed by this sudden broadcast change. The first season aired at the beginning of 2020, and it took around a year and a half for the second season to air.
While it can be said that a year and a half isn’t that big of downtime between seasons, fans were really excited when it was announced that the final season would be airing just six months later.
Sadly, we will have to wait a little bit longer for Iroha and Yachiyo to make their way on our screens, perhaps even for the final time.
