Even Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill Has a Higher Kill Count in the MCU than Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk
Comic book characters, even superheroes, generally have a tendency to cause a lot of damage during their fights. This is not, in the case of the superheroes, intentional, of course, but damage occurs and casualties also occur, whether they want it or not. On the other hand, sometimes, the casualties are intentional as superheroes have to kill their enemies in order to win.
Sometimes, though, superheroes have a “no-kill” rule, like Batman or Superman, but this is an exception, not a rule. Superheroes generally don’t shy away from killing their enemies, regardless of whether they are humans or some alien entities, monsters, etc.
In light of that, we are going to talk about the kill count of a very interesting character, or, more specifically, about the kill count of her version from the MCU. The character in question is Maria Hill, and you will definitely be surprised when you find out just how many characters she’s killed (and yes, it’s more than the Hulk).
The source for the data we have for you is a list from IMDb, composed by user Creedswede, who made an effort to chronicle the kill count of all major and minor MCU characters, with several important notes. Based on the data he has presented, Maria Hill’s kill count is as follows:
- The Avengers – 1
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier – 83
- Captain America: Civil War – 6
- Total kills: 90
Additionally, she made appearances in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home, but she had no kills in those projects, mostly because the appearances were either cameos or not that relevant to the plot. She has also appeared in several TV shows, most notably Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but the numbers for these appearances have not been provided.
With a total of 90 kills in the MCU, Maria Hill can be described as one badass character. The number is higher than the kill count of many MCU villains and significantly higher than that of most superheroes. In fact, if you compare her to some other heroes, she surpasses – for example – both Hawkeye and even the Hulk (and we’re counting both Norton’s and Ruffalo’s versions here), which is definitely impressive.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective), Maria Hill’s kill count in the MCU won’t be increasing, as the character was killed by Skrull Gravik during the events of Secret Invasion.
