Fullmetal Alchemist found its way to the top favorite anime in the last 30 years in a major popularity poll conducted by My Anime List. My Anime List gathered all the ratings and reviews found on their website to decide what are some of the top anime shows that we had a pleasure to follow up with and see in the last three decades.

Aside from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Hajime no Ippo, Cross Game, Bakemonogatari, some of the anime series that made the cut are Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter, Gintama, Sailor Moon R, and Dragon Ball Z.

Anime has become a phenomenon of a global scale in the last decade, while anime and manga altogether had a fabulous run during the nineties. The 90s’ might have set up the terrain for anime to enter the mainstream waters in the 2000s’, counting millions of users all over the world.

The major popularity poll also picked the best years for anime in the last three decades together with shows that made these years amazing for anime fans. From 1989 and Dragon Ball Z to 2019 and the third season of Attack on Titan, the list includes some of the biggest names in anime.
