In just one day, the lives of a few people will change! The first short announcement (teaser trailer) has arrived for the action crime thriller Ambulance by the famous filmmaker Michael Bay, who, in addition to directing, is also signing a production with Bradley J. Fischer, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Ian Bryce. Fans of Bay’s work will recognize in the first seconds that this filmmaker is behind the new exciting film.
Although the announcement does not bring much, the Universal studio has published a synopsis. Award-winning veteran Will Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is desperately asking for money to cover the medical expenses for his wife’s surgery so he will ask for help from the only person he knows he shouldn’t ask for help.
It’s about his adopted brother Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal), a charismatic criminal who offers him a job instead of money: the biggest bank robbery in the history of Los Angeles of $ 32 million. Since his wife’s life is at stake, Will can’t say no. When their escape goes awry, desperate brothers will hijack an ambulance carrying a wounded life-long police officer and medical technician Cam Thompson (Eiza González). In a tense chase that seems to have no end, Will and Danny will have to avoid a huge police response, keep the hostages alive and somehow not kill each other – as long as they perform the craziest escape LA has ever seen.
Other roles include Garret Dillahunt, A Martinez, Keir O’Donnell, Moses Ingram and Wale Folarin. The screenplay was written by Chris Fedak (Prodigal Son, Chuck) based on the original story and screenplay for the 2005 Danish thriller Ambulancen by Lauritz Munch-Petersen and Lars Andreas Pedersen.
Ambulance hits theaters from April 8.
