Morfydd Clark and Ariyon Bakare To Star in UFO Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Arctics Skies’ – the Movie About a Cargo Plane Crew Which Becomes the Target of Otherworldly Attention

Morfydd Clark and Ariyon Bakare are set to star in Arctic Skies, a new UFO thriller produced by Independent Entertainment. The film will be introduced to potential buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin. The story is inspired by a well-documented UFO encounter and follows a cargo plane crew that experiences something extraordinary while flying 40,000 feet above the Arctic Circle.

The movie will be filmed at Steven Knight’s Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham, UK, which recently hosted the production of Peaky Blinders’ upcoming feature film for Netflix. Elliot and Zander Weaver, known for their work at Elliander Pictures, are writing and directing the film. They will also produce it alongside Jamie Gamache and Connor O’Hara of Lowkey Films, with Colin M. McKeown also on board as a producer.

Independent Entertainment’s Chief Operating Officer, Cora Palfrey, spoke about the project, expressing excitement over its potential. She described it as a gripping story that will appeal to audiences and buyers looking for unique and commercially viable genre films. Steven Knight also welcomed the production to Digbeth Loc. Studios, praising the local talent involved and looking forward to seeing the final product.

Director and producer Elliot Weaver shared that this project has been in development for a long time and is particularly meaningful to them. He mentioned that the UFO case inspiring the story has fascinated them for years, and they are eager to bring it to life with a talented cast.

Clark is widely recognized for playing Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which recently secured a third-season renewal. She was also nominated for a BAFTA for her role in Saint Maud. Bakare, known for his work in His Dark Materials, has also starred in Carnival Row and Life, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds.
