What DC Animated Movies Are Set in the Same Universe?

DC Comics is a comic book publishing house, but their stories have been adopted on numerous occasions. Alongside the famous live-action works, a lot of DC Comics’ stories and characters have appeared in animated form and some of these works – be they TV shows or movies – are among the best in their respective categories. Today, we are not going to talk about the TV shows, but rather about the animated movies and their narrative continuities. In today’s article, you are going to find out which DC Comics animated movies are set in the same narrative continuity.

DC Comics, for those of you that are not familiar with the story behind the comics, is a major American comic book publisher founded back in 1934. Along with Marcel Comics, it is the most popular comic book publisher in the United States. DC Comics is a major player in the comic book business and is the “home” of many famous comic book characters such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and many others.

Now that we’ve given you a short introduction, let us discuss the topic of this article in more detail.

The DCAU continuity

The DC Animated Universe (DCAU) – also known as Timmverse or Diniverse – is a shared narrative universe based on the continuity and style envisioned during the 1990s and first used in the cult classic Batman: The Animated Series. Along with the main narration TV shows, several movies set within the continuity have been released, most of them focusing on Batman and one on the Justice League. Here are the movies:

NOTE: Despite using an identical animation style, Superman: Brainiac Attacks is not part of the DCAU continuity.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)

Someone is killing off some of Gotham’s mob leaders in an eerie costume, vanishing and reappearing like a ghost and eyewitnesses insist that it is Batman. The dark knight is now in serious trouble with the police, accused of being dangerous and unpredictable. Hunted wherever he goes, Batman must solve the mystery of the Phantasm to stop the killing and regain his reputation. Meanwhile, old wounds are opened as Andrea Beaumont (whom Bruce Wayne had had a serious love affair with in the past) returns to the city.

Memories of the past are now preying on Bruce’s mind, memories of a time before Batman where Bruce was drawn between happiness and the promise he made to his parents. The mystery of the Phantasm is really putting Batman’s skills to the test as the police slowly draw in with no mercy. The answer to it all lies somewhere in the past of both Bruce Wayne and another deadly foe, The Joker.

Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (1998)

Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze, has found a home – the Arctic Circle, where he can live as a normal man can live in the tropics, and where his wife Nora remains in cryogenic suspension pending Victor’s discovery of a cure for the illness that will take her life should she be freed too soon. However, a submarine on a scientific expedition surfaces through the ice of Fries’ cave home, destroying the area – and breaching the seals on Nora Fries’ cryo-chamber.

In desperation, Victor dons the frigid battlesuit of Mr. Freeze to find the one doctor who can save Nora’s life, but the doctor needs an organ transplant to pull off the operation. He finds a donor with the right blood type – Barbara Gordon, whose relationship with Dick Grayson is becoming more serious. When Barbara is kidnapped, Grayson and Bruce Wayne don their famous crime fighting costumes to track down Barbara and Freeze, and along the way learn the full story of Nora Fries’ desperate predicament.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000)

In latter-21st-century Gotham City, The Jokerz, a street gang enamoured of the city’s infamous Clown Prince Of Crime, is breaking into a high-tech engineering plant to steal a powerful generator, a crime stopped by the new Batman (Terry McGinnis) and which puzzles Terry and his mentor, the elderly original Batman Bruce Wayne. The reason for this and other “geek junk” thefts is a mystery even to The Jokerz gang, who are now working for someone claiming to be the original Joker himself.

When he makes an appearance at a charity function attended by Bruce Wayne (cover to steal another generator), the Joker taunts Wayne, and later sends his minions to attack Terry McGinniswhile he attacks the Batcave. But the original Joker died forty years earlier, and why does this new Joker want high-tech items? When a shaken Barbara Gordon explains the fate of the original Joker, Terry begins to piece the twin mysteries together, culminating in a confrontation with the Joker that literally threatens the very existence of Gotham City.

Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman (2003)

A new superhero appears in Gotham City – Batwoman. The press and Batman are puzzling over the identity of the woman who imitates Batman in appearance and method. Batman and Robin meet her for the first time when she prevents a weapons delivery from the Penguin and his partner Rupert Thorne. Batman initially suspected that Kathy Duquesne, the daughter of crime boss Carlton Duquesne, is behind the whole thing. When they enter the Penguin’s Club together, however, Batwoman appears. A battle develops in which the club is ultimately destroyed. The suspicion now falls on Dr. Roxanne “Rocky” Ballantine, whose fiancé is innocently in jail, but she has an alibi. Batman finally learns the truth: Kathy and Rocky share a secret identity with Detective Bullock’s new partner Sonia Alcana.

Kathy is now on her way to blow up a ship. However, she is captured and exposed by Bane. Batman, Robin, Sonia and Rocky take on the fight against the four villains to free Kathy. However, this blows up the ship and puts everyone in danger. While Batman fights Bane, Sonia and Rocky try to stop the Penguin and Thorne. With the help of Robin, they manage to succeed. After the showdown, Sonia quits her job, but releases Rocky’s fiancé from prison before leaving. Bruce Wayne continues dating Kathy, now reconciled with her father, who is about to testify against his former partners.

Batman and Harley Quinn (2017)

Batman and Nightwing discover that Poison Ivy and Floronic Man (Jason Woodrue) have teamed up. Much to their reluctance, they decide to look for Harley Quinn (Ivy’s best friend and Joker’s usual sidekick) to find out where the duo is hiding. Batman leaves finding Harley to Nightwing, while he gets information from A.R.G.U.S. There, he learns that Ivy and Woodrue stole the information on Swamp Thing’s birth and kidnapped Dr. Harold Goldblum, who could help them turn everyone into plant people. Nightwing finds Harley working as a waitress at a restaurant. Initially reluctant, Harley ultimately decides to help. The trio head to Blüdhaven, where they find the villains. There, Woodrue fatally wounds Dr. Goldblum before he and Ivy escape as their lab catches fire.

However, the dying Dr. Goldblum reveals that the duo is heading to Wainwright Swamp. Contacting A.R.G.U.S., Batman, Nightwing and Harley head after them to convince Ivy to stop her mad plans. Harley resorts to crying to convince Ivy, who is finally swayed by their relationship. Swamp Thing appears, informing Woodrue that he would threaten the Green with his concoction; however, he will not interfere. Batman and Nightwing wonder how to stop Woodrue, until Harley points out he is a plant and asks if they have a match. Grateful, they both give her a kiss on the cheek and Batman just sets Woodrue on fire. In a post-credit scene, Harley has gone back to being Dr. Harleen Quinzel and she now has a reality game show.

Justice League vs. the Fatal Five (2019)

In the 31st century, Mano, Tharok and Persuader of the Fatal Five attack the Legion of Super-Heroes. Star Boy, Saturn Girl and Brainiac 5 try to keep them back but fail. Just as the villains activate the sphere, Star Boy leaps at them and is taken along. Arriving in the 21st Star Boy triggers a boobytrap, trapping the villains inside a stasis field. Star Boy comes down in Gotham City and discovers his supply of medicine was destroyed; his increasingly erratic behaviour gets him apprehended by Batman and sent to Arkham. The stasis-locked time machine is picked up by Superman in Metropolis and brought to the Justice League’s headquarters. Mister Terrific unintentionally brings down the stasis field, freeing its occupants. Superman and Mister Terrific fight them, but the villains escape.

Star Boy’s memory is jogged by a news report of the fight, and he breaks out of Arkham. When the three villains attack Jessica Cruz, Star Boy comes to her rescue, followed by Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Mister Terrific, and Miss Martian. To find out more about their guest from the future, Batman instructs Miss Martian to telepathically link their and Jessica’s minds with Star Boy’s memories, thus learning about the Legion. Upon their awakening, the League receives an ultimatum from Mano: Surrender Jessica or all American cities will be destroyed. In the Watchtower, Jessica is contacted by Tharok through her ring, forcing her to surrender. Despite interference by Kilowog and Salaak on Oa, Emerald Empress and Validus are freed. Afterwards, Emerald Empress has her Emerald Eye of Ekron steal all the energy of the Central Power Battery, and the Five return to Earth to recover the time sphere. The heroes proceed to the time machine’s location, where the Fatal Five force them into battle.

Emerald Empress subdues the Justice League and then initiates her master plan to use the Lantern’s power to destroy Earth’s sun, wipe out humanity, and thus prevent the formation of the Legion in their time. Brought back to her apartment by the ring, Jessica flies to the base and prevents the Fatal Five from escaping by killing the supervillains. Superman, Jessica and Star Boy race after the Eye, but are too late. As the sun cracks apart, Star Boy sacrifices himself. In the final scene as the Justice League members commemorate his heroism, they are joined by the Legion.

However, traveling to the past to change it can distort everything with serious consequences. When he wakes up, it’s in a world he doesn’t even know. This is a world where the Justice League does not exist, where no one has ever heard of Superman, where Aquaman and Wonder Woman have plunged the world into the darkness of war, where no human has ever wielded the Green Lantern’s light, where the Fastest Man Alive is just another man, and where Batman has as much blood on his hands as his enemies do.

Powerless and alone, Barry remembers reality as it once was. He turns to Batman for help to get his powers back and joins forces with the warped versions of the men and women he once fought alongside with to set things back to rights. Labs by Silas Stone, father of Victor Stone. Recruiting Superman, trio begin to work together against the Parademons.

On the planet Apokolips, Darkseid orders Desaad to begin an invasion of Earth in response to the superheroes’ discovery of his plans. Superman, Batman and Green Lantern realize an invasion has begun when the box activates and several Boom Tubes appear throughout the world. The Box in S.T.A.R. Labs explodes and creates a Boom Tube when Victor is holding it. The explosion fuses the technology inside the Box to Victor’s wounded, mutilated body. The Box’s technology spliced with Victor’s body fuses itself with the various technologies around the room. Victor is transformed into Cyborg, with a body capable of transforming and adapting itself, including obtaining new features.

Just as the Flash saves the scientists, Cyborg discovers details of Apokolips, Darkseid, and the invasion plan. He learns that the Parademons are actually inhabitants of worlds conquered by Darkseid, spliced with his technology, allowing him to mind-control them into serving as an army for conquering other planets. Billy Batson sees a Parademon outside and mystically turns into the superhero Shazam. Air Force One is attacked in the air, but is saved by the Amazon princess Wonder Woman and Superman. After the heroes gather, Cyborg reveals that the invasion is a prelude to the terraforming of Earth.

Darkseid arrives and proves to be a powerful opponent. Bruce allows himself to be captured to save Superman. Green Lantern has the idea to strip Darkseid of his Omega Beams by destroying his eyes. Bruce goes through a portal to Apokolips, where he escapes the Parademon and stops DeSaad from turning Superman into a Parademon. Superman is left unstable and highly aggressive because of the brainwashing process, resulting in him strangling DeSaad to death and attacking Parademons and Batman. Batman reasons with him, and helps him reassert his own personality.

On Earth, after Darkseid’s eyes are destroyed by the Justice League, Cyborg reopens the Boom Tubes to send Darkseid and his army back to Apokolips. Darkseid fights back, and with Superman and Batman’s assistance, the group eventually force him through the portal. To do this, he introduces Terra to the heroes – the girl he once saved. The Task Force manages to recover the card but Savage, sacrificing the life of Knockout (companion of his daughter Scandal, who will betray him because of this), manages to get hold of it and, thanks to Professor Pyg, implants it in his body in such a way that whoever extracts it activates its power, thus making it unusable; Thawne, however, manages to convince Frost to go over to his side and thanks to her help, he is able to recover it. Namely, the alter ego of the Kryptonian, Clark Kent, has long been Lois’ boyfriend, but he still hasn’t told her the truth about him. After discovering that the fragments are composed of an alien and terrestrial alloy, Superman interrogates Lex Luthor, subjected to house arrest, about it, without, however, obtaining anything useful; at the same time, the space mission led by Hank Henshaw and his wife is marred by a meteor shower that unleashes on them after the opening of a boom tube.

The largest of these rocks is deposited on the seabed and, shortly afterwards, a creature emerges, capable of killing some Atlantean guards with bare hands. The being, driven by an unstoppable fury, leaves behind an unprecedented trail of blood and destruction and therefore the Justice League has to intervene. But, even the group cannot do anything against the devastating strength of the entity and therefore reveals the need for the intervention of Superman, who shortly before these events, had confessed the truth and his love to Lois. Superman and the creature, nicknamed Doomsday by Lois Lane, fight in the streets of Metropolis. Luthor also intervenes in the fight, protected by high-tech armor, but not even he can do anything.

The whole world mourns the disappearance of the Man of Steel, when suddenly his spacecraft is activated and reaches his grave, from which a figure similar to that of Superman emerges shortly after, and together the two head to the North Pole. There, the glider terraforms the polar ice creating a fortress. Shortly thereafter, one of the Kryptonian’s clones escapes from the secret laboratory where Luthor performs his experiments, while one of the scientists at S.T.A.R.Laboratories, John Henry Irons, creates a steel Superman logo, and a cyborg resembling Kal-El flies through the atmosphere.

Chas asks John to help his daughter Trish, who has unexpectedly fallen into a coma, which Chas suspects to be the result of dark magic. John uses magic on Trish and discovers that her aura is tainted. He summons Asa, the Nightmares Nurse, to help pinpoint a diagnosis but Asa cannot find Trish’s soul. Trish is briefly able to communicate through Asa before a demonic entity takes over and gives John an address.

As John and Chas travel to Los Angeles to get Trish’s soul back, Asa and Chas’ wife Renee stay with Trish. Asa magically compels Renee to tell the story of Newcastle that John will not talk about. Renee reveals that John and Chas had been best friends since they were kids and even formed a band together as young adults. When they found out that their mentor Alex Logue was using his daughter Astra to enact a dark spell below his Newcastle night club, John, having practiced occultism since he was a boy, attempted to save Astra by conjuring a real demon. The demon Nergal killed Alex and his followers, but also slaughtered the club-goers and took Astra with him to Hell. His trauma regarding the incident even lead him to be committed to a psychiatric institute.

However, Renee does not remember sharing this information with Asa. John has a dream of the worldwide whispers again and suspects that someone is messing with his mind. Chas drives them to the address and they are greeted at a mansion by an anthropomorphic pig butler. Inside the mansion, John stumbles upon a pool of decaying corpses before the monstrous demon Beroul presents himself. The demon explains that his soul-snatching scheme was just a ploy to enlist John’s services. Beroul reveals that he intends to create his own branch of Hell, but needs John to eliminate his demon competitors.

After surviving being chased on the road by demonic dogs and being saved by an apparently possessed driver, John meets with Beroul again, who reveals himself to be Nergal, and that he is behind the plague of coma victims. The demon forces John to aid him by showing that he has Trish’s soul trapped inside his body. Afterwards, John meets Angela, the collective consciousness of Los Angeles, who had been following John ever since he arrived by possessing various people, including the driver that rescued him.

Seducing him, she admits that she unleashed his inner demons as a test, and tells him that she will not allow demons of despair to poison a city of hope. Returning to Chas, John admits that he doesn’t have the power to defeat Nergal’s enemies on his own. He then hatches a plan. He first entices the Aztec death god Mictlantecuhtli to attack the demons for him. He then lures the demons to an unconsecrated church by promising to hand over Nergal, traps them inside with holy water, and allows the god and demons to fight each other, then finishes off the victorious god with a spell. Returning to the hospital, John summons Nergal.

He attempts a bluff: cutting Nergal off from his wards, harassing him with the inner Constantine demons, and opening all of the gates between Hell and Los Angeles, leaving Nergal with 5000 competitors to face instead of 5. Nergal calls John’s bluff, forcing him to use his fallback plan: the Camdever Curse. Unleashing all of Trish’s and Renee’s love for Chas blasts the demon apart, since Trish’s soul is locked inside him. This frees the girl, saves the coma victims, and destroys the demon. But later, at a diner, John reveals to Chas that love was the sacrifice that powered the curse: Trish and Renee will never again remember Chas, and, further, Chas will not remember John. Angela appears in the form of an old man, thanks John, and promises to take care of Chas.

John heads off to return to London, with one surviving inner demon to keep him company.

Reign of the Supermen (2019)

Six months after Superman’s death in the terrifying confrontation with Doomsday, Lois tries to overcome the pain with the help of the Kents and Diana Prince, whom she befriends after Clark’s death. The world, however, is still tied to the Kryptonian thanks to the presence of four entities that have taken on the inheritance: Superboy, Steel, Eradicator and Cyborg Superman.

When Lex Luthor presents “his” Superman to the press, a clone of the original created using the tycoon’s DNA, the four successors clash with each other. Lex continues its Superboy marketing campaign, managing to earn him a spot in a mission of the Justice League in which the group must protect the President of the United States during the launch of the new Control Tower. During the launch, a boom tube opens that sends the Justice League on Apokolips.

Shortly thereafter, Lois discovers that Cyborg Superman has visited Terri Hanshaw’s grave, thus deducing that he is in reality the missing astronaut Hank Henshaw, who is under the control of Darkseid. The tyrant of Apokolips is in fact the author of the plan that led to the death of Superman and the disappearance of the Justice League in order to conquer the Earth, which he plans on implementing by convincing the citizens of Metropolis to become a special troop subjected to Cyborg Superman to better control them. Meanwhile, John, thanks to the indications of Lois and Lex, manages to reach the Fortress of Solitude.

Eradicator attacks him but the battle is interrupted by the real Superman, who survived thanks to the technology of his planet but is still far from the maximum of his powers. Superboy soon joins the group, tired of being considered a mere subordinate of Lex. Back in Metropolis, Superman, Steel and Superboy begin to fight against Henshaw’s troops. The latter manages to lead Superman to the new Control Tower and begins to fight with him, wishing in this way to avenge the death of his wife (of which he accuses the Kryptonian).

However, thanks to Lois’s intervention and the use of a crystal, Superman manages to stop Henshaw while Lex, by breaking the technology of the mother boxes present in the militia uniforms, manages to bring the Justice League back to Earth and to stop the invasion of Darkseid. The world then embraces both the real Superman and Clark Kent while Conner (name assumed by Superboy) goes to live with the Kents.

Batman: Hush (2019)

After Batman rescues an abducted child from Bane for a ransom, Lady Shiva approaches Batman to inform him of an unknown Lazarus Pit intruder and requests his help in identifying the intruder. Batman agrees to do so as Catwoman steals the ransom. While pursuing her, a masked vigilante shoots through Batman’s grapple line, causing him to fall to the sidewalk. Catwoman rescues him from a gang of criminals who tried to unmask him, but Batgirl rescues him from Catwoman. Batgirl takes him back to the Batcave where Bruce’s butler Alfred and Nightwing create an alibi for how Bruce Wayne suffered a cracked skull.

Alfred contacts Bruce’s childhood friend Thomas Elliot, who is now a renowned brain surgeon, to aid his skull. When Bruce declares himself ready to be Batman again two weeks earlier than Dr. Elliott advised him to be up and around, Alfred gives him a new bulletproof batsuit with a padded cowl for better skull protection. Meanwhile, Catwoman delivers the ransom to Poison Ivy, who has been controlling her with a hypnotic kiss. The same masked vigilante who shot Batman confronts Ivy about the ransom and gives her Kryptonite.

Batman helps Amanda Waller retrieve Bane from police custody in return for information. She uses the special tranquilizers he supplied her to stop him from escaping his prison transfer from Blackgate Penitentiary and to take custody of him herself, presumably for her Suicide Squad. Batman reluctantly teams up with Catwoman to find Poison Ivy. Her information leads them to Metropolis. While there, Batman confronts Lex Luthor, now a probationary member of the Justice League after helping them defeat Cyborg Superman, about the information on a delivery list of an ethylene compound utilized by Ivy.

Ivy uses Kryptonite lipstick to take control of Superman and orders him to kill Catwoman and Batman. Catwoman threatens to push Lois Lane down a building to free Superman from the mind control. Selina interrogates Ivy, who reveals she was hired by a mysterious vigilante calling himself “Hush”.

Hush later kidnaps the Joker to persuade Harley Quinn into attacking an opera Bruce, Selina, and Thomas are attending, allowing him to murder the latter outside and frame the Joker, which angers Batman. Following the Joker’s arrest and Thomas’ funeral, Bruce deduces that Hush knows he is Batman. While on patrol, Hush grabs Batman’s attention and confronts him, although Hush tricks him by using mirrors.

He then threatens to hurt everyone close to him, prompting Batman to reveal his identity to Catwoman. Bruce takes Selina to the Batcave, where she meets Dick Grayson and Alfred, and learns of Bruce’s son Damian. The two become a crime-fighting couple, but Hush later lures Dick and Selina to Thomas’ grave, where they are attacked by Scarecrow. Dick is incapacitated by Scarecrow’s fear toxin, allowing Hush to kidnap her.

Shortly after, Commissioner James Gordon informs Bruce of a break-in at Thomas’ office. While investigating, Batman learns that one of Thomas’ patients was someone using the alias of crossword puzzle inventor Arthur Wynne, leading him to suspect the Riddler was behind the break-in.

While interrogating Riddler at Arkham Asylum, Batman realizes that he is actually Clayface in disguise, and learns that Riddler was Hush all along, having used the Lazarus Pit to cure his inoperable brain tumor and learn Batman’s secret identity. He then deduces that Arthur Wynne was just an anagram of the factory where Selina is being held captive.

Batman finds the factory and confronts Hush/Riddler, who is growing weaker as the effects from the Lazarus Pit wear off. Batman frees Selina and they defeat Riddler, who nearly falls to his death. Batman catches him with a grapple line, but when Selina realizes that Batman was going to stay there and try to save the Riddler even though the building was about to explode, she cuts the line and lets Riddler fall to his death. She and Batman argue when they reach safety and decides to call off her relationship with Bruce due to his moral codes.

But her heart is as strong as her will as she is determined to help a troubled and embittered young girl whom has fallen in with a deadly organization known only as Villainy, Inc. This is an origin story of this universe’s Wonder Woman, which explains how she became the superheroine she is today.

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (2019)

Darkseid, the evil tyrant from Apokolips, is conquering one planet after another. The Justice League recruits other superheroes and decides to attack the infernal planet in order to stop its ruler forever. Darkseid, however, spies on the attack plan by exploiting the connection Cyborg still has with the mother boxes and the mission ends in tragedy; many heroes lose their lives (such as the Green Lantern Corps, Aquaman and Zatanna, who is inexplicably abandoned by John Constantine) while others suffer a fate that is, perhaps, even worse.

Superman is deprived of his powers; Batman is brainwashed thanks to the Mobius Chair and becomes Darkseid’s lieutenant; Lex Luthor becomes the Dark Knight’s Earth referent; Wonder Woman, Mera, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman and Starfire become the new Furies (completely transformed by combining what remains of their bodies with mechanical parts); Flash is used as a power generator for the planet; and Cyborg becomes the security mechanism of Darkseid’s palace.

Two years later, the Earth is now a domain of Darkseid, who is preparing to steal the magma of the core through three machines in order to revive his own planet. In order to stop him, Superman and Raven go to London and recruit Constantine and the demon Etrigan as part of the resistance led by Lois Lane, who convinces Harley Quinn and her Suicide Squad to join her too, having contact with a spy inside of Darkseid’s army. Raven and Clark ask John to take them to Damien Wayne, who has become the leader of the League of Assassins; he agrees to help them so he can avenge himself (during the siege of Earth, all the Teen Titans were killed while Nightwing, who was killed during the clash, was brought back to life thanks to the Lazarus Pit but has gone mad).

While the rest of the heroes on Earth sacrifice themselves to destroy the three machines (including Shazam, Batwoman and Superboy), the Squad and the others arrive at Luthor’s (except Black Manta and Deadshot), who is revealed to be the spy, palace, and use the facility’s boom tube to send Superman and the others to Apokolips (taking advantage of the absence of Darkseid, who personally took the field to conquer Oa), while they sacrifice themselves to face the “Paradooms”, the Parademons crossed with Doomsday that Darkseid created and exploited to win the first time. On Apokolips Superman, Raven and John face off against the ex-heroes, now loyal soldiers of Darkseid but John brings Diana to her senses thanks to her Lasso; later the group frees Flash from the generator and Constantine uses his magic to exorcise Cyborg, making him come to his senses.

Once in the central room, the group faces Batman and Darkseid. Damien fights with his father, trying to make him come to his senses, but it is only after his murder at the hands of Darkseid that Batman snaps from his mind control. John then frees Trigon from Raven’s crystal and the demon takes possession of Superman, who then fights against the tyrant of the planet. During the clashes, John loses his life and so he has the opportunity to talk to Zatanna, who confesses that she pushed him to leave her with a spell to save his life and then sent him back to Earth; Raven later resurrects him and Damien, who confesses his love for her.

Superman frees himself from the control of the demon and John frees Trigon altogether, who then immolates himself with Cyborg to send Darkseid into the void, thanking his daughter and then return to limbo, while the the rest of the heroes return to Earth. Unfortunately the damage caused to the planet is irreversible and therefore John convinces Barry to create a new Flashpoint to start from scratch; the sprinter, albeit reluctant, accepts while Damien, Raven (who give each other their first and last kiss) and the group observe the new horizon.

Batman apologizes and then reveals that after Jason left, he proceeded to look for him until the Batcomputer lost track of him. However, their reunion is cut short when Two-Face informs via video that he bought Wayne Enterprises and proceeds to cause havoc and unleash the OMAC drones through Gotham. He then demands to see Batman and Bruce Wayne to exact his revenge. At Wayne Industries, Batman struggles to keep his dual identity a secret until Red Hood arrives disguised as him.

Having dealt with Two-Face, Batman joins Red Hood in the OMAC factory and the two reconcile. When Brother Eye denies Batman’s request to stop, bringing up Bruce’s earlier dismissal of him, Batman apologizes and admits that he failed to see the good Wayne Enterprises was doing to Gotham. Moved by Batman’s words, Brother Eye shuts down and halts his attempt to blow up the power core. Following this, Batman decides to be more considerate towards his proteges. Red Hood moves back into the Batcave and the Bat Family celebrate their victory as Batman and Red Hood bond over video games.

Lego DC: Shazam!: Magic and Monsters (2020)

A new hero known as Shazam has made his debut and is attracting the attention of the media for his sudden arrival and polite mannerisms. Unbeknownst to the public, he is actually a young orphan boy named Billy Batson. Impressed by Shazam’s capabilities, the Justice League invite him to the Hall of Justice where they offer Shazam membership. Shazam dismisses their offer, believing that they will reject him if they discover his true age.

Consulting The Wizard who gave him his powers for advice, Shazam is told that relationships are built on trust and that he should be more open to the Justice League. Sensing a disturbance, the Wizard then tells Shazam to go help the Justice League when they follow the Monster Society to their warehouse hideout, which Shazam agrees to do. Unfortunately, Mister Mind manages to capture the Justice League and, using a chemical concocted by Doctor Sivana, transforms them into children, making them more susceptible to his mind control. Although de-aged, Batman manages to avoid being mind-controlled and escapes to the Batcave with Shazam’s help. Learning that Batman is reluctant to trust him, Shazam reveals his secret identity to Batman while also recounting his origin story to him. Relating to Billy’s status as an orphan, Batman reveals his secret identity to Billy and explains that he too is an orphan and becomes more trusting of Billy.

Across the world, the mind-controlled Justice Leaguers proceed to steal large quantities of food for Mister Mind, but one by one they are located by Batman and Shazam and freed from Mister Mind’s control. Reunited, the Justice League devise a plan to infiltrate the Monster Society’s lair. Unfortunately, they are swiftly exposed and forced to fight their way to Mister Mind, ultimately defeating the Monster Society. When Shazam and the Justice League encounter Mister Mind, they discover that he has undergone metamorphosis and grown into a giant moth.

The group attempt to escape to the Rock of Eternity to gain help from the Wizard, but Mister Mind follows them and proceeds to devour the Rock, resulting in him increasing in size and freeing Black Adam from his imprisonment. Black Adam betrays Mister Mind by using his powers to reduce Mister Mind to his caterpillar form and send him hurtling through space.

Seeking vengeance against the Wizard, Black Adam attacks the Rock. The Wizard attempts to hold Black Adam back long enough for Shazam and the Justice League to escape back to Earth. Returning to Earth, knowing Black Adam will be coming for them, the Justice League make preparations.

Arriving on Earth, Black Adam announces his intentions to rule over it with an iron fist. The Justice League and Shazam arrive and face him. Remembering the Wizard’s advice and how Black Adam was able to depower Mr Mind, Shazam shares his power among the Justice League, enhancing their abilities and returning them to their normal age, while revealing his secret identity to them in the process. The Justice Leaguers are not upset. Using their enhanced abilities, the Justice League is able to defeat Black Adam. The Justice League show their gratitude by reuniting Billy with his sister Mary and their Uncle Dudley. In a mid-credit scene, Lobo manages to apprehend Mister Mind and plans to collect a $1,000,000,000,000 bounty placed on his head, much to Mister Mind’s dismay.

The Batman vs. Dracula (2005)

Joker and Penguin escape Arkham Asylum and go after money hidden in a crypt in Gotham Cemetery. Batman appears and the Joker apparently dies when he falls into a river and is electrocuted by one of his electronic devices. The Penguin goes alone to the cemetery but finds a body in the coffin instead of money. The body is that of Count Dracula, who hypnotizes the villain and turns him into his slave, who also takes care of his coffin during the day. Several people start to disappear and the police blame Batman after witnesses say that a giant bat was responsible for the kidnapping of the victims.

The hero, in turn, is suspicious of a certain Dr. Alucard (“Dracula”, written in reverse), a new European anthropologist he had met at a society party and who had shown an interest in the reporter Vicki Vale. By deducing who his enemy was, Batman goes after him and while having to face an army of the undead, the Penguin and a vampire version of the Joker, in addition to rescuing Vicki Vale, who was kidnapped by Count Dracula.

Superman: Brainiac Attacks (2006)

Lex Luthor announces the creation of a protective weapon, which will render Superman’s services useless for mankind. Brainiac dodges this weapon, arrives on Earth and in the form of a robot breaks into Lex Luthor’s laboratory. With the knowledge and access to Luthor’s weapons, Brainiac fights Superman and loses the fight. Lois Lane, who arrived at the scene of the battle, almost dies, but is once again rescued by Superman. Lex Luthor takes the board with Brainiac’s memory and, using a particle of Kryptonite and Clark Kent’s DNA, creates a robot-hunter for Superman based on them. Meanwhile, Clark Kent has a crush on Lois Lane and worries that she has given her heart to Superman.

He decides to open up to her in a restaurant, but Brainiac finds him. Fighting the robot, Superman is defeated, and Lois Lane is poisoned with his blood. To save his beloved, Superman travels to the Phantom Zone and retrieves an antidote. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor announces the defeat of Superman and tries to defeat Brainiac, who has arrived in Metropolis in the robotic body. Believing that he has power over the alien genius, Lex Luthor discovers that Brainiac has, in fact, long been out of his control and he is powerless to defeat him. Returning from the Phantom Zone, Superman defeats Brainiac and heals Lois Lane. Clark Kent finally opens up to his sweetheart.

Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo (2006)

The high-tech ninja, Saico-Tek, attacks the Titans and destroys their tower, but is stopped by Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven and Beast Boy. Robin finds out, by interrogating the villain, that he is working for the Japanese criminal boss “Brushogun”, who has sent a ninja to collect information about the Teen Titans. The group immediately leaves for Tokyo in search of the mysterious enemy, but is completely befuddled by the environment of a, for them, confusing city. They meet the local police commissioner, Uehara Daizo, who considers Robin’s story of “Brushogun” to be a Tokyo urban myth.

Later, the group assumes they have been deceived until Saico-Tek, who attacked Robin, further confirms Robin’s suspicions. However, he is arrested for a violent clash with Saico-Tek. While Robin is in prison, the other Titans will soon be attacked themselves. The group gets to gather themselves together and, with the help of Cyborg, find a clue leading to a local abandoned comic book factory, where “Brushogun” plans to finally deal with the the Teen Titans.

Superman: Doomsday (2007)

Lois Lane and Superman are romantically involved, but Lois is not happy with him not revealing his secret identity to her. While digging, workers from LexCorp unearth the spaceship of Doomsday, a genetically-engineered super-soldier that is highly hostile toward any life form it comes across. It kills the digging crew and begins a rampage towards Metropolis, killing animals and humans on sight. When Doomsday reaches Metropolis, it decimates the military until Superman arrives. Superman and Doomsday engage in a fierce battle across Metropolis until Superman breaks Doomsday. But the victory is short-lived as Superman seems to succumb to his wounds and die in Lois’ arms.

Lex Luthor kills his personal assistant to ensure no one else knows of LexCorp’s involvement with Doomsday’s release. The world mourns Superman and Metropolis honours him with a memorial. Superman’s friends cope with his death in various ways. Jimmy Olsen takes a job at a tabloid newspaper The National Voyeur, Perry White becomes an alcoholic, and Lois, having realized that Clark was Superman, visits Martha Kent for counsel.

In Superman’s absence, Metropolis is overwhelmed by criminals.

A resurrected Superman appears, but it is revealed to be a clone created by Luthor who is keeping the real Superman’s body preserved in a tube, unaware that Superman is, although barely, still alive. Meanwhile, the clone’s attitude darkens when he hears that Toyman killed a child. In retaliation, the clone drops him from a height so that he falls to his death in front of the police station. This convinces Lois and Martha that this is not the real Superman. Lex berates the clone, orders him to find Superman’s corpse, and threatens to kill him if he misbehaves again.

Superman is revived and resolves to confront the clone, although his powers are not fully restored. To improve his odds, he dons a “solar suit” and brings a Kryptonite gun. The two battle and Lois manages to hit the clone with a kryptonite blast. The clone destroys the gun, but the Kryptonite canister sticks to the clone’s chest and Superman vaporizes it with his heat vision. Before dying, the clone tells Superman to protect the people. Lois is sure of the real Superman once he kisses her, and the crowd is similarly happy now that they know that the real Superman is alive. At Lois’ apartment, Superman reveals himself to be Clark Kent, and Lois embraces him with elation.

At LexCorp, Lex is revealed to be critically injured and in a wheelchair, but still alive. He smiles, musing that there may still be a way for him to destroy Superman.

Justice League: The New Frontier (2008)

An unknown entity has decided to eradicate humanity due to its proneness to violence. At the end of the Korean War, US Air Force pilot Hal Jordan and his navigator Kyle Morgan are attacked by enemy pilots, but survive. In Las Vegas, Captain Cold tries to rob a casino, but Flash comes running from Central City, called by his girlfriend Iris West. The last surviving Martian, J’onn J’onzz, is teleported to Gotham City; two years later, he becomes detective John Jones. Together with Batman, he stops a ritual sacrifice by a End-of-Days cult.

Meanwhile, Hal Jordan trains under the command of Colonel Rick Flag for a flight to Mars, not knowing that his rocket carries a destructive weapon. The rocket takes off damaged and faulty. Hal gets out of the cockpit and is saved by Superman. On Paradise Island, Wonder Woman trains with the Amazons. Suddenly they are attacked by the “Center”, the leader of the Gotham-based cult. Abin Sur gives his ring to Hal and tells him about the “Center”, a monstrous creature that seeks to destroy people. “Center”, a huge flying island guarded by an army of mutant dinosaurs, attacks Florida. Superman tries to get closer to the “Center”, but he fails, and he drowns in the ocean. Inspired by his deed, the heroes plan to use Ray Palmer’s beam to destabilize the island, along with a frontal attack and bombardment.

The air assault yields no results, and the dinosaurs overwhelm the ground forces. Hal and Kyle Morgan make their way to the core of “Center”, but a hallucinogenic attack disorients them. Jordan’s ring turns out to be a powerful weapon from the Guardians of the Universe. Using it, the pilot becomes a Green Lantern. Meanwhile, Flash jumps to the surface of “Center” and runs across it, causing him to shrink. Hal envelops the island in green energy and propels it into space, where it explodes. As the team of superheroes celebrate their victory, a submarine emerges from the water, containing Aquaman and Superman, whom he had saved.

Batman: Gotham Knight (2008)

Have I Got a Story for You
A street kid meets with his three friends at a skate park, to which all three of them claim to have seen Batman earlier that day. Batman’s battle with the Man in Black, a high-tech criminal, is told in reverse chronological order with three very different interpretations of Batman’s form and abilities (in the style of the 1950 film Rashomon): one describes him as a living shadow that can melt away and reappear at will (similar to Vampire Batman from Batman & Dracula trilogy); another describes him as a half-human, half-bat creature (similar to Man-Bat); and lastly, one describes him as a combat robot that can leap tall buildings in a single bound. At the end, Batman pursues the Man in Black to the skate park and captures him with the help of the fourth street kid. The fourth kid is able to see what Batman truly is after seeing him sustain injuries from the battle: a human warrior in a costume. He then proceeds to tell his experience about seeing Batman to his friends after Batman disappears.

Crossfire
Crispus Allen and Anna Ramirez are partners and members of the Major Crimes Unit that have been hand-picked by Lieutenant James Gordon. The two are assigned to take the recently captured Man in Black (who was captured previously on Have I Got A Story For You), revealed to be Jacob Feely, an escaped inmate from Arkham Asylum with an expertise in advanced electronics and explosives back to Arkham Asylum (which most of the Narrows has been converted into following the incident in Batman Begins). On their way, they argue over whether Batman can be trusted with Allen saying that they are just running errands for a vigilante while Ramirez replies that Batman has changed Gotham for the better. As they are heading back, Allen declares his intention to leave the MCU and Ramirez pulls into a vacant lot to confront Allen. However, the two get caught in a very large gunfight between gangs, The Russian Mob and Sal Maroni‘s gang. Maroni’s men are gunned down and Maroni takes refuge behind Allen and Ramirez’s patrol car which The Russian subsequently destroys with a rocket launcher. Ramirez and Maroni manage to get clear in time while Allen is rescued by Batman who proceeds to take out The Russian and his men. Sal Maroni then threatens to kill Ramirez, but he is dispatched by Batman. Batman recognizes Allen and Ramirez as Gordon’s hand-picked officers and remarks that Gordon is a good judge of character, and disappears.

Field Test
An accident involving a new WayneCom satellite’s gyroscopic electromagnetic guidance system gives Lucius Fox an idea to create a device with the satellite’s gyro with an advanced sound sensor that will electromagnetically deflect small-arms fire. Bruce Wayne takes the device and attends a charity golf tournament being held by land developer Ronald Marshall, with whom he discusses the mysterious death of a community activist named Teresa Williams, who had opposed some of Marshall’s plans. During the tournament, Wayne secretly takes Marshall’s PDA device. Later that night as Batman, he hijacks a boat owned by Sal Maroni and drives it alongside a boat owned by the Russian Mob’s leader The Russian and proceeds to attack both gangs at once with assistance from his new device. He attempts to force a truce between the two gang leaders until he can get evidence against them and that Sal Maroni and the Russian can then argue who gets the top bunk at Blackgate Penitentiary. The discussion is disrupted when one of Maroni’s men fires at him. The bullet deflects and instead hits one of The Russian’s men. Distressed, Batman takes the injured man to the hospital. Later, he returns the device to Fox, stating: “…It works too well: I’m willing to put my life on the line to do what I have to. But it has to be mine, no one else’s.”

In Darkness
The police respond to a riot in a cathedral where Cardinal O’Fallon was giving a sermon. According to eyewitness testimony, the Cardinal was abducted by a large monster and taken down into the crypts below the cathedral. Lieutenant Gordon, Crispus Allen, and Anna Ramirez investigate. Gordon has a brief conversation with Batman, who agrees with Gordon’s theory that the Scarecrow’s fear toxin is behind the riot as the doctor has been at large since the riot at the Narrows (during the event of Batman Begins). Batman gives Gordon an earpiece that will allow them to stay in contact and descends below ground, trying to find Cardinal O’Fallon and his abductor. A homeless man living in an abandoned subway station identifies the abductor as Killer Croc. Batman and Gordon briefly discuss the villain’s past, but are cut off when Killer Croc ambushes Batman. During the fight, Batman discovers Croc is under the influence of the Scarecrow’s fear toxin. Batman defeats him, but not before sustaining a bite that transfers some of the toxin to him. He then finds Cardinal O’Fallon being put on trial and sentenced to death by the Scarecrow (who is unhappy with O’Fallon’s efforts to help the homeless). Batman leaps in to defend the Cardinal. Using the methane already present in the room, he sparks an explosion that destroys several water pipes, flooding the area and allowing him to escape with the Cardinal. While Scarecrow escapes, Gordon appears in a helicopter to retrieve the Cardinal. Gordon offers to help Batman, but Batman refuses, saying: “Maybe next time.”

Working Through Pain
Taking place after In Darkness Dwells, Batman is shot in the stomach by a man hallucinating in the sewers of Gotham. Severely injured, Batman cauterizes the wound and then desperately searches for a way out, reflecting on his experiences with managing pain as he does so (before the events of Batman Begins). First, he remembers volunteering with a relief effort and assisting a doctor in performing surgery without anesthesia. Next, he reflects on the lessons he learned from a woman named Cassandra who was cast out of her community for disguising herself as a boy in an attempt to become a Fakir. Over several months, she teaches him to minimize his pain to the point where he can control it, sleeping on a bed of needles or standing on hot coals without reacting. One night, several young men appear to harass Cassandra, who takes their blows without seeming to feel them. Bruce steps in to defend her, not only demonstrating his ability to withstand their attacks but defeating them all with his martial arts skills. Cassandra then tells him to leave, saying that he has learned what he came to learn. She then comments on how Bruce’s pain was beyond her or possibly even his ability to handle, but how it also appeared to be leading him down a path he desired. Back in the present, Batman ends up in a gutter where he discovers a cache of guns buried in the garbage. Alfred then arrives to assist him and tells Batman to reach out his hand so he can pull him out of the gutter but Batman, whose arms are full of guns, replies that he cannot.

Deadshot
Bruce Wayne has a flashback to the murder of his parents. In his penthouse, he examines the firearms he took from the underground tunnel’s gutter (during the events of Working Through Pain) which he intends to turn in to the police. Wayne admits to Alfred that even though he vowed never to use them in the memory of his parents, he can still understand the temptation to use one. Meanwhile, in another city, a prodigious assassin known as Deadshot carries out an assassination on Mayor Manning with a spectacularly difficult shot from a moving ferris wheel literally miles away from the man and returns to his tropical base.

There, one of his associates hires him to carry out a hit in Gotham. It is revealed that The Russian has put out a hit on Lieutenant Gordon, and Batman is called in to protect him. Batman gives Crispus Allen Ronald Marshall’s handheld PDA device (which he stole as Bruce Wayne in Field Test), containing a link to encrypted e-mails proving that Ronald Marshall hired Deadshot in the past. He then follows Gordon’s motorcade, with Alfred providing satellite-imagery assistance using the new WayneCom satellites.

Deadshot attempts to shoot Gordon from a moving train, but Batman deflects the bullet. Deadshot then gleefully reveals that Batman was his real target the entire time and that the threat against Gordon was merely a ruse to draw him out. He opens fire as the train enters a tunnel and as Batman attempts to charge at Deadshot, he gets shot and falls off the train. Deadshot advances to where he saw Batman fall while gloating about shooting Batman, but is suddenly ambushed and disarmed from behind by Batman.

Now terrified, Deadshot confesses that he was hired by the Russians to kill Batman and tries to talk Batman out of killing him since he was “only doing his job.” Infuriated with Deadshot’s cowardice, Batman knocks him out and Deadshot and Ronald Marshall are later arrested afterwards. Later, Wayne confides to Alfred about how similar the fight in the tunnel seemed to the night his parents were murdered and comments that “I’ve been trying to stop those two bullets all my life.” He expresses discouragement and Alfred agrees, but then adds that he thinks Bruce has a higher purpose. The film ends with Bruce looking up at the sky and seeing the Bat-Signal.

After building their city, Hippolyta goes to the beach to have a girl there with the help of Zeus, Diana. Many years later, when Princess Diana has become a proud warrior, Ares unleashes the plan he hatched in his cell and corrupts an Amazons to release him. Green Lantern: First Flight (2009)

Before any living beings appeared on Earth, there was a race in the universe called the Guardians of the Universe, who owned great power and imprisoned it in a Battery of Power, which became the source of power for the Green Lanterns throughout the Universe. But it had one weakness – the green energy could not resist the yellow energy, which is why the Guardians concealed it, in order to prevent the use of this power for evil purposes. Ferris Aircraft test pilot Hal Jordan joins the Green Lantern Corps, the intergalactic police force, after the death of Abin Sur, who gave Hal his ring of power. His mentor becomes a respected member of the Corps, the guardian of the rules Sinestro, who is investigating the murder of Abin Sur. Hal soon realizes that Sinestro’s beliefs are not as perfect as they seem – Sinestro believes that the Guardians of the Universe do not have a proper plan for maintaining security in the Universe. Sinestro and his plans become the main problem of the Corps, as he intends to destroy the Guardians of the Universe, but defeating him is not an easy task, as he obtains the powers of the Yellow Ring of Fear.

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009)

LexCorp CEO, Lex Luthor, is elected President of the United States during an economic crisis. Luthor becomes popular by saving the country’s economy and gets several superheroes to collaborate with him: Captain Atom, Star, Katana, Black Lightning, Powerful and Major Force. However, Superman and Batman do not trust Luthor. The American government discovers that a large Kryptonite meteor is on a collision course with Earth. Luthor thinks he can stop the threat on his own and prevents other heroes from interfering, but Batman and Superman make their own efforts to stop the threat. Lex pretends to try to make a deal with Superman, but the hero ends up having to face the cyborg presidential bodyguard named Metallo, who has a Kryptonite fragment in his heart.

After a devastating fight, Superman is saved by Batman, but Metallo appears to have died and Lex accuses Superman of being the murderer. He publicly claims that the meteor’s proximity was affecting the hero’s mental balance and immediately offers a prize of $1,000,000,000 to whoever captures Superman and Batman, whom Luthor accuses of being the Man of Steel’s partner in crime. Several villains try to defeat Superman and Batman, and then the heroes who support Luthor also seek to imprison the duo (except Power Girl, who is the only one on the president’s team who knows the truth and intends to help the duo). However, when Luthor’s attempt to stop the meteor fails, several people begin to doubt the president’s abilities. Batman and Superman go and ask Toyman, who has a ship ready to blow up the meteorite, for help.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths (2010)

The story begins in an alternative universe, when heroic versions of Lex Luthor and The Joker (called Jester) invade America’s Crime Syndicate’s secret base and steal a detonating device called a “quantum trigger”. Jester ends up sacrificing himself by being cornered by the villains J’edd J’arkus (a version of Martian Manhunter) and Angelique (a version of the Hawkgirl). Lex Luthor manages to escape to Prime-Earth, where he asks the Justice League for help. Earth’s heroes agree to help and accompany Lex back to his universe, except for Batman, who remains to look after the League’s satellite headquarters. The Justice League faces its evil counterparts while the President of the United States, Slade Wilson, is reluctant to confront the villains, because he does not want to use nuclear weapons against them. This also prevents the Crime Syndicate from taking it out of power. But they have a plan: Owl (the villainous version of Batman) is building a bomb with which the Crime Syndicate intends to force the president out of office. But the criminals are unaware that the Owl has his own plans and that they can put humanity in mortal danger. It is up to Batman to defeat his evil counterpart.

Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010)

The Joker has captured Jason Todd, the second Robin, and tortures him until Batman arrives to save his apprentice. The rescue fails when the building explodes and Jason dies. Five years later, Batman is struggling to recover from the death of his sidekick, when what appears to be gang warfare breaks out in Gotham. In the city of Gotham, a masked man known as Red Hood takes command of the drug trade, assuring eight prominent leaders of his protection against Batman and another underworld boss. Black Mask. It eventually turns out that Red Hood is in fact Jason Todd, the former Robin, who came back to life thanks to Ra’s al-Ghul. Red Hood attacks the Joker and, in an abandoned apartment, puts him through the same violent torture the Clown Prince of Crime had put him through earlier. The Dark Knight Returns (2012/2013)

Part One
After the death of his protégé Jason Todd, Bruce Wayne retired his Batman persona. Ten years later, in mid-1986, Gotham City is overrun with crime and terrorized by a gang known as the Mutants. The 55-year-old Wayne maintains a friendship with 70-year-old retiring Police Commissioner James Gordon (who knows Wayne was Batman), while the Joker (Batman’s archenemy) has been catatonic in Arkham Asylum since Wayne’s retirement. Arkham inmate and former district attorney Harvey Dent undergoes plastic surgery to repair his disfigured face.

Although he is declared sane, he quickly goes into hiding following his release. Dent’s disappearance, news stories of the crime epidemic, and the memory of his parents’ deaths drive Wayne to become Batman once more. He combats serious crimes, rescuing 13-year-old Carrie Kelley, but now struggles with the physical limitations of age.

Public reaction to his return is divided. Dent’s psychologist Bartholomew Wolper blames Batman for creating his own rogues gallery. Dent resurfaces, threatening to blow up a building unless he is paid a ransom. Batman defeats Dent’s henchmen, learning that the bombs will explode even if the ransom is paid; he realizes that Dent intends to kill himself. Batman disables one bomb, and the other detonates harmlessly. He defeats Dent, who reveals that he thinks the reconstructive surgery was botched, as he considered his undamaged half as disfigured.

Kelley dresses as Robin and looks for Batman, who attacks a gathering of the Mutants with a tank-like Batmobile (incapacitating most of them). The Mutant leader challenges Batman to a duel. He accepts to prove to himself that he can win. The Mutant leader (who is in his prime) nearly kills Batman, but Kelley distracts him long enough for Batman to subdue him. The leader and many gang members are arrested. Injured, Batman returns to the Batcave with Kelley, and allows her to become his protégée in spite of protests from his butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

Batman has Kelley disguise herself as a Mutant, and she lures the gang to a sewer outlet at the West River. At the Gotham City Police Department, the Mutant leader murders the mayor during negotiations. Commissioner Gordon deliberately releases the leader, providing an escape from the building, which leads to the sewer outlet.

Before the amassed Mutants, Batman fights the leader in a mud pit; the mud slows the leader, removing his physical advantage, and Batman overpowers him. Seeing their leader’s defeat, the Mutants divide into smaller gangs, with one becoming the “Sons of Batman”, a violent vigilante group. Batman’s victory becomes public and the city’s inhabitants are inspired to stand up against crime. Gordon retires after meeting his anti-Batman successor, Ellen Yindel. In Arkham, televised reports about Batman bring the Joker out of his catatonic state.

Part Two
In late 1986, feigning remorse for his past, Joker convinces Wolper to take him on a talk show to tell his story, and makes plans for his escape with Abner, an old henchman who supplies him with mind-controlling lipstick. Meanwhile, Superman, who works as a government operative in exchange for being allowed to covertly help people, is asked by President Ronald Reagan to end Batman’s vigilante activities. Framing these events is a growing hostility between the USA and the Soviet Union over possession of the island of Corto Maltese. As Batman’s continued presence humiliates the national authorities, incoming commissioner Yindel orders Batman’s arrest, and Superman warns Batman that the government will not tolerate him much longer.

Joker makes his talk show appearance on David Endochrine’s show as Batman fights with the GCPD on the studio roof; while they fight, Joker kills Wolper, gasses everyone in the studio to death and escapes. He finds Selina Kyle and uses one of her escorts and his lipstick to take control of a congressional representative, who calls for a nuclear strike on the Soviets before falling to his death. Batman’s investigation leads him to Selina, whom he finds bound and dressed like Wonder Woman. Kelley notices cotton candy on the floor, and Batman deduces that Joker is at the fairgrounds.

There Kelley accidentally kills Abner while Batman pursues the Joker, who indiscriminately guns down dozens of people. As Batman corners a wounded and partially blinded Joker, he admits to feeling responsible for every murder Joker has committed and intends to stop him permanently. In the ensuing fight, Joker stabs Batman repeatedly, and Batman breaks Joker’s neck in front of witnesses. However, Joker is still alive, albeit paralyzed from the neck-down. Content that Batman will be branded a murderer, the Joker finishes twisting his neck, killing himself. The GCPD arrive and Batman, bleeding profusely, fights his way to Kelley and escapes.

Superman deflects a Soviet nuclear missile, but is hit with the blast and badly injured. The detonation creates an electromagnetic pulse that wipes out all electrical equipment in the United States and causes a nuclear winter. As Gotham descends into chaos, Batman, Kelley and Gordon rally the Sons of Batman and the citizens of Gotham to restore order, and Yindel accepts that Batman has become too powerful to take down.

While the rest of America is powerless and overrun with crime, Gotham becomes the safest city in the country, embarrassing the President’s administration. Frustrated they weren’t able to bring stability, Superman and troops are sent to finally stop Batman. Batman and Superman agree to meet in Crime Alley.

Superman can’t help but feel remorse for disregarding Batman throughout the years, and humbly asks him not to go through the fight. Wearing a powerful exoframe and supported by Kelley and former superhero Oliver Queen (Green Arrow), Batman fights Superman, using various tactics to make the fight even. When Superman gains the advantage, Queen hits him with an arrow made with synthetic Kryptonite, severely weakening him. Batman savagely beats Superman, claiming that he intentionally made the Kryptonite weak, and tells Superman never to forget that Batman could have killed him whenever he wanted.

Batman then apparently dies of a heart attack, while Wayne Manor self-destructs, and Alfred dies of a stroke. Superman holds Batman’s body, and orders the soldiers to stand down.

In the aftermath, the world learns that Bruce was Batman; all of his secrets are destroyed with the manor and his finances disappear. As Superman leaves Wayne’s funeral, he gives Kelley a knowing wink after hearing a faint heartbeat coming from Bruce’s coffin. In a cave, Bruce is revealed to have faked his death to make preparations to continue his mission more discreetly, allied with Kelley, Queen, and his followers.

Waking up on Brainiac’s ship, Superman discovers many smaller cities. Coming into contact with Superman, Brainiac discovers intelligent life on planet Earth and, having captured the hero, sends him to Kandor.

Using robots, Superman escapes from Kandor. He temporarily neutralizes Brainiac and returns home with the miniaturized city.

Brainiac recovers and attacks Earth. Despite Superman and Supergirl’s attempts to stop him, the alien shrinks Metropolis and fires a rocket capable of blowing up the Sun. During the programming, a band that was supposed to play on the show is revealed to be hidden and replaced by four of the Dynamic Duo’s greatest villains; the Joker, the Penguin, the Riddler, and Catwoman. Bruce and Dick suit up as Batman and Robin and head towards the Gotham City Police Department, where they receive a riddle from Commissioner Gordon and Chief O’Hara.

They discover that the crooks are robbing the Acme Atomic Energy Laboratory of the Replication Ray that was invented by Dr. Nichols. The Replication Ray has the power to make a perfect duplicate out of anything. After a brief fight, the criminals manage to escape Batman, but leave behind a clue that leads the Caped Crusaders to their lair in an abandoned TV dinner factory. While discussing what to do with the Replication Ray, Catwoman reveals her plan to make Batman join their side with a scratch from a substance called “Batnip”. After Batman and Robin break in, they are defeated by the criminals and trapped on a frozen food tray heading towards a large oven. Catwoman uses her Batnip on Batman, but he is supposedly unaffected by it. The two escape the trap after the villains leave the factory.

Back at stately Wayne Manor, Bruce starts showing signs of aggression after Aunt Harriet nearly discovers the Batcave. He blames Alfred Pennyworth for the incident and fires him, leaving the butler to wander on the streets homeless. After days of not finding Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman, Batman figures out that the four crooks are no longer on Earth and have hijacked a space station. The two heroes go into space with the help of their Bat-Rocket.

At the space station, Joker, Penguin and Riddler betray Catwoman as they do not trust her to be on their side due to her feelings for Batman. They try to throw her out into space. She is rescued by the Dynamic Duo and aids them in defeating her former allies for revenge. Batman savagely beats the three men and recovers the Replication Ray, but Catwoman escapes in an escape pod in the process.

After the mission, Dick expresses concern towards Bruce for his behavior in the space station and at the Gotham City Police Department (where he left when Gordon was not looking without a word). Bruce kicks Dick out of the house and takes a break from being Batman, resulting in a crime spree in Gotham City.

A few weeks later, Batman returns to the Gotham City Police Department and blames the police for the increase in crime. He uses the Replication Ray on himself to replace Gordon and O’Hara as police commissioner and police chief respectively.

Batman soon replaces most of the government, jobs and citizens in Gotham with his replicas and plans to take over the world. Dick realizes that the Batnip had a delayed effect on Batman and was slowly making him eviler over time. He then suits up as Robin and goes to Catwoman’s lair to request her help in curing Batman which she agrees to do as she thinks the effects of the Batnip were more severe than she had planned.

The two take the Catmobile to the Batcave, where Catwoman attempts to give Batman the antidote, but Batman anticipated it and took the Bat Anti-Antidote. Batman defeats the two in a fight and leaves them to die in the Atomic Pile, but they survive thanks to Robin’s Bat Anti Isotope Spray. Knowing they cannot take on an army of Batmen by themselves, Robin and Catwoman disguise themselves as prison inspectors and break most of Batman’s rogues gallery from Gotham State Penitentiary; Archer, Black Widow, Bookworm, Clock King, Egghead, False Face, King Tut, Louie the Lilac, Mad Hatter, Minstrel, Mr. Freeze, Sandman, Shame and Siren by claiming to Warden Crichton that the ball and chains and pickaxes are not in good shape. This resulted in the replaced versions carrying the villains out of the prison. While a prison guard tells Warden Crichton that Joker, Penguin and Riddler did not escape, the three of them mysteriously turn into a pile of dust.

The two confront Batman and his army on the Gotham Palace set, but they still lose even with the help of the criminals. Before Batman kills Robin and Catwoman, a disguised Alfred arrives and gives Batman a strong enough antidote to counter the Bat Anti-Antidote. Batman returns to normal, and the rest of his clones turn to dust as the Replication Ray was not strong enough to make perfect clones.

Batman realized that his behavior change was used as a distraction by Joker, Penguin and Riddler, and that the ones they arrested were fake copies. Joker had spiked the Batnip Catwoman was using. The real ones were using the opportunity to rob the Gotham Art Museum. Joker, Penguin and Riddler just wanted to get Batman out of the way first. Batman, Robin and Catwoman (who came as vengeance for what they did at the space station) chase them to Penguin’s blimp, where the villainous trio is defeated after they are knocked off the blimp to a safe location to be arrested. Catwoman tries to escape with the stolen paintings, but Batman recovers them. Unwilling to be put in a cage again, Catwoman allows herself to fall into a smokestack.

Suddenly, the Titans are abducted by the Master of Games, a being who explores the multiverse with his Worlogog to find the best versions of particular heroes. He pits the 2013 Titans against the original 2003 animated Titans, who agree to fight after the Master of Games threatens to destroy their Earths. 2003 Robin and Cyborg manage to take out all of the 2013 Titans with the exception of Raven. She is coerced into unleashing her demonic power against the 2003 Raven, who snaps her out of it when she realizes the Master of Games is siphoning her demonic energy. The Master of Games then reveals himself to be 2013 Trigon, who uses Raven’s energy to resurrect 2003 Trigon. The two Trigons kidnap the Ravens and escape to the 2003 Earth to finish absorbing 2013 Raven’s powers so they can conquer the multiverse.

The two Titans teams agree to work together to stop the Trigons and rescue their Ravens. Meanwhile, fed up with his counterpart’s insults, 2013 Trigon consumes 2003 Trigon and transforms into a new powerful being named Hexagon.

To combat this new threat, 2003 Robin uses their Worlogog to summon Titans teams throughout the multiverse to form the “Titans of Infinite Earths”, but to no avail. 2013 Raven evens the odds by absorbing all of her counterparts and transforms into a dragon known as “The Unkindness”. The Titans destroy Trigon’s Worlogog and assist Raven in getting her powers back, which sends 2003 Trigon into limbo while 2013 Robin uses their Worlogog to send 2013 Trigon to a zombie dimension.

After 2013 Raven accepts her demonic half, all of the Titans are sent home to their respective dimensions. Upon returning to their Earth, the 2013 Titans express relief that they do not have to endure another multiverse-threatening crossover for at least another year. As a young adult, Clark is an intern for the Daily Planet, covering the launch of a Lexcorp telescope meant to discover other lifeforms from space. Grad student Lois Lane reveals the fraud Lex Luthor has given to the President. The rocket is launched, but soon explodes in the air; but then, up in the sky, Clark appears and flies the rocket into space, saving the day. Unbeknownst to him, he is watched by a mysterious man. Confirming the disaster is based on Lois’ sources, Luthor is arrested, and Lois moves from grad student to ace reporter.

S.T.A.R. Labs reveals something coming to Earth, to which Clark flies to intercept, and encounters a Czarnian bounty hunter named Lobo, who is after the last Kryptonian. Battling all over the city, Clark surprises Lobo at every turn, because the bounty hunter never knew Kryptonians had superpowers on Earth. The fight moves to S.T.A.R. Labs; Rudy is pinned from debris, just as Lobo throws a bomb but misses Clark, instead of infecting Rudy with its strange purple liquid. Outside, Lobo reveals his Kryptonite ring, nearly killing Clark in the process, until the mysterious man reveals himself to be a Martian, and attacks Lobo. Healing from the yellow sun, Clark manages to finally beat Lobo, saving the Martian in the process.

Returning to Smallville with his issues, Clark gets advice from his adopted parents. At the hospital, an infected Rudy wakes up and murders the people around him, stealing their energy like a Parasite. Driving home, the mysterious man appears, telepathically attacking Jonathan until Clark intervenes. Revealing to be not an enemy, he introduces himself as J’onn J’onzz the Martian Manhunter. He tells his story. J’onn surprises Clark with the revelation that he is Kal-El, the Last Son of Krypton. Clark learns of his Kryptonian heritage, and the last moments of his biological parents, Jor-El and Lara.

The next morning, Martha gives Clark an upgrade: a red and blue costume with the “S” from the crystal. At S.T.A.R. Labs, Lois meets Lobo in his electrified cell, who feeds her lies and would rather sexually harass her than talk. Then, Parasite shows up, killing the guards and scientists, and gains energy from Lobo’s cell, freeing him and becoming a monster. Parasite escapes, while Lois is saved by Superman. Superman fights Parasite while J’onn rescues civilians from a train that the monster crashed. Superman’s powers do nothing but strengthen him, then the monster absorbs his energy, learning everything about the Man of Steel. J’onn comes to save him, but Parasite does the same with him, and lights him on fire, seemingly killing him. Retreating, Clark is bedridden as his powers have been drained. Lois comes to check on him. He takes her advice and meets with someone that can help him: Lex Luthor.

Returning to LexCorp, Luthor reveals the Parasite would have Superman’s weaknesses along with his strengths and he brings in his new partner Lobo, and his Kryptonite ring. From there, they form a plan. It works, and a giant monster-sized Parasite reveals himself to Superman, Luthor, and Lobo. Despite their best efforts, Superman is still powerless, and Lobo is seemingly killed. The military arrive, but their attacks only make himself stronger.

Superman decides to become the bait and lure him away from the plant, just as Luthor grabs the Kryptonite for a weapon he designed. Just as Superman is grabbed by Parasite, Luthor double-crosses him and shoots his Kryptonite weapon, nearly killing both Superman and Parasite until J’onn (who had faked his death with his telepathic powers) intervenes. As J’onn chases Luthor, Superman tries to reason with Parasite and getting Rudy to come out. Just then, the reactor inside the power plant overloads, attracting the Parasite. Superman is too weak to stop it as Parasite absorbs the power, but is overwhelmed, disintegrating into ashes in the progress.

Superman and J’onn meet up on top of the Daily Planet along with Lobo who had survived by reassembling his limbs. Before he leaves, he reveals the truth of his lie: there are more Martians and possibly more Kryptonians too. J’onn decides to leave, in hopes of finding more of his people. Superman is met by Lois, whom in a power play, decides to reschedule their interview. Lois goes back inside with nothing, while Clark smiles in the background.
