My Hero Academia the Movie: World Heroes’ Mission to Get Special Screenings in Japan

The third movie in the My Hero Academia franchise will have special screenings in theatres across Japan from January 22nd to January 27th. The third feature film installation titled My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission will be premiered to celebrate the DVD and Blu-ray disc release of the movie. My Hero Academia home movie release will be available from February 16th in Japan.

The theatre screenings in Japan will also include a debut for a new anime movie based on the manga No. XXX Hawks: SOOTHE. The movie will be called Tabidachi, translated as Departure. Those who watched the movie premiere in Japan also got the original No. XXX Hawks: SOOTHE, while the anime will be included in the Plus Ultra version of the My Hero Academia movie.

The third movie in the franchise premiered in August 2021, while Funimation brought World Heroes’ Mission to western audiences in October the same year. The third movie was the highest-earning film in the franchise, also topping the US box office as the second-best movie on an opening day.

The cinemas in Japan that will screen My Hero Academia movie special are TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro, TOHO Cinemas Ebina, TOHO Cinemas LaLaport Funabashi, Sapporo Cinema Frontier, Midland Square Cinema, TOHO Cinemas Nishinomiya, TOHO Cinemas Namba, TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku, and United Cinema Canal City 13.
