Naomi Ackie Wants to Return to ‘Star Wars’ as a Jedi

Naomi Ackie has made it clear she would be excited to return to Star Wars and reprise her role as Jannah in the upcoming New Jedi Order movie. In an interview at Sundance for her film Sorry, Baby, Ackie responded positively when asked about the possibility of coming back to Star Wars.
Though she kept it lighthearted, her enthusiasm was clear. She jokingly said, ‘Star Wars, get it together! If they give me a call, we’ll see if I’m free.’ In The Rise of Skywalker, Ackie’s character, Jannah, was a former stormtrooper who became the leader of a group that had hidden on the moon of Kef Bir.
The film hinted at a possible connection between her and Lando, suggesting she might be his daughter, though that idea has since been downplayed. More importantly, Jannah was shown to possibly have Force abilities, making her a strong candidate to become a Jedi in future stories.
With Rey now set to rebuild the Jedi Order, Jannah could play a crucial role, especially if she’s Force-sensitive like Finn. If she and her fellow stormtroopers share this trait, they could form the foundation of Rey’s new Jedi community. Ackie’s return as Jannah would make sense, and it’s a role fans would love to see explored more, especially as the Jedi Order is revived.
The excitement around New Jedi Order continues to grow, and it’s clear that many, including Ackie, are eager to see the continuation of the sequel trilogy. It would be a missed opportunity if the new movie doesn’t bring back some of the characters we’re already invested in.
