Netflix Confirms that 'Blood of Zeus' Season 2 Will Premiere on May 9!

Inspired by Ancient Greek mythology, the first season of Netflix’s Blood of Zeus, initially known as Gods & Heroes, premiered on October 27, 2020. The series had a total of eight episodes, and it was well-received by fans and critics. Created by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, the series was produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios with the animation outsourced to South Korean studios Mua Film and Hanho Heung-Up. The series was quickly renewed for a second season in December 2020, but it took a total of four years for the series to return, as Netflix finally confirmed that the second season will premiere on May 9, 2024.

The creators of the series have confirmed that they have a total of five seasons planned, and we just hope that we won’t have to wait that long for the upcoming seasons to appear. Alongside the premiere date, a trailer has also been released, which you can watch below.

Before we actually continue, here is the action-packed trailer that we have mentioned above. You can check out what awaits us for yourselves:

As you can see, the new season will bring a lot of new and interesting details, so fans of the series, as well as fans of Greek mythology, will have something to look forward to. The official plot of the series has been summarized like this:

Following Zeus’ demise, a power vacuum emerges amongst the gods, leaving Heron, Zeus’ demigod son, struggling to find his place. He is racked with loss and hears a mysterious refrain in his dreams, prodding him to save his brother, Seraphim, who is suffering the terrors of the Underworld. Unbeknownst to Heron, Hades is trying to enlist Seraphim to help him secure Zeus’ vacant throne and save his family from their long standing suffering.

  • Claudia Christian as Hera
  • Elias Toufexis as Seraphim
  • Mamie Gummer as Electra, Heron’s mother
