The upcoming thriller Knives Out 2 would be arriving in the last quarter of the year.

Netflix presented this Thursday morning a trailer of more than 2 minutes announcing the productions that will begin to premiere the rest of the year. Recognized movie stars such as Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Ryan Reynolds participate in the various films to be released this year by the streaming platform, although the one that caused the biggest stir on social media was Knives Out 2.

The first film was a worldwide hit in 2019 mainly because of the great number of famous actors such as Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, and Jamie Lee Curtis, besides an involving story, something reminiscent of last year’s hit, Don’t Look Up. However, the sequence of Knives Out was a tense thriller with impressive plot twists.

With a budget of $40 million, the first Knives Out reached $311 million in theaters and even earned an Oscar and BAFTA nomination for Best Screenplay. In addition to a sequel, the deal between Netflix and Johnson would also contemplate a third part of the story. We don’t have exact details about the project plot or story, but It will probably be a success like the first part.

In total, throughout 2022 Netflix will release 28 movies that will be released every week. Some of the titles also include Enola Holmes 2, The Mothership, a sci-fi film directed by Halle Berry; You People comedies by Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy; Me Time, Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg; or Slumberland, a fantasy film with Jason Momoa and actress Marlow Barkley.

“This year, Netflix’s cinematic universe is expanding with new comedies, action thrillers, mysteries, mysteries, dramas, sequels, and more…every week. From laughs to tears to heart-pumping, adrenaline-pumping, edge-of-your-seat suspense, there’s a movie for every mood.” the trailer says.

Although there is still no confirmed date, Knives Out 2 could be released between September and October of this year. You can enjoy Netflix’s upcoming films trailer below.
