Rumors are swirling that Nintendo plans to launch the Nintendo Switch 2 in March 2025. This speculation comes from discussions on Chinese forum Weibo and the Famiboards gaming forum, as highlighted by Nintendo Prime.
According to these sources, Nintendo is expected to officially reveal the new system in January 2025, with a release following in March.
While Nintendo has not confirmed these details, the company has previously stated that the console will be announced before April 2025. Additionally, Nintendo has confirmed that the new console will feature backward compatibility, allowing players to enjoy their existing Switch games on the new system.
Other rumors suggest that the new console will include magnetic Joy-Con controllers with additional buttons and support for up to 4K resolution when docked. It’s also been claimed that the new system will receive AAA games around its launch, something the current Nintendo Switch didn’t have.
As always, until Nintendo makes an official announcement, it’s best to take these rumors with a grain of salt. However, consistent reports from various sources suggest that we may see the Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future.
