No More Kylo Ren?! Adam Driver Says He's "Done" with 'Star Wars'!

Adam Driver is an actor who has appeared in numerous roles in many movies, which include Lincoln (2012), Frances Ha (2012), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), BlacKkKlansman (2018), Marriage Story (2019), The Last Duel (2021), House of Gucci (2021), and Ferrari (2023), but one role stands out among mainstream fans, which is what of Kylo Ren, or Ben Solo, from the Star Wars franchise. And while the sequel trilogy was more clumsy than perfect, even ridiculous at times, Driver’s performance has been praised and Kylo Ren is still considered as one of the trilogy’s most important characters.

And while Kylo Ren died in the films, we have seen that Star Wars characters can – more or less miraculously – reappear in the series, as was the case with Darth Maul and Palpatine, so why not Kylo Ren? The actor was recently asked about the possibility of returning to the role of Kylo Ren, and we will reveal what he said.

Adam Driver had a guest appearance on the Smartless podcast, and among other topics, his role in Star Wars was discussed, and he was asked whether there was a possibility that he could return to the role of Kylo Ren in one of the many planned future projects.

“They’re doing stuff, but not with me. I’m not doing any more,” Driver said, confirming the sad news that Kylo Ren is more or less a thing of the past and that there are no new projects involving the character. Driver was then asked by the hosts: “You’re done because the character’s done?” And sadly, yes, Driver confirmed that he was, really done with the role, at least for the foreseeable future.

We know that Samuel L. Jackson has recently stated that Mace Windu is not dead and that he wants a solo series on Disney+, so we won’t be ruling out Driver’s return completely, especially since there is a Rey-centered movie project coming up, but as things stand now, we shouldn’t hope for more Kylo Ren in the future.

This is quite sad since Kylo Ren was really an amazing character and a character that has been accepted by even those fans who did not like the sequel trilogy. And it is true that Han’s and Leia’s son had a great development arc and that his relationship with his former master, Luke, was one of the best moments in the whole sequel trilogy.

So, while the doors are not completely closed, it doesn’t seem likely that Adam Driver will be re-joining the Star Wars universe anytime soon, but we can hope that this will change in the future, and you should keep following us because we are going to bring you all the updates!
