Noah Centineo Is Back as Netflix Releases New Trailer for ‘The Recruit’ Season 2
Noah Centineo returns as rookie CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks in Netflix’s spy thriller The Recruit. In the newly released trailer for Season 2, we see Owen taking on a dangerous mission in South Korea. His boss, Walter Nyland, sets the tone with a challenge for Owen to ‘go save the day,’ but things quickly spiral into high-stakes espionage.
This time, the trouble isn’t just overseas. The trailer hints at tension within the CIA itself, with Owen realizing the biggest threat might be coming from his own agency. Nathan Fillion’s CIA Director, Alton West, warns of catastrophic leaks, saying, ‘They are going to spill every secret we busted our nuts to keep secret.’ The team has only 48 hours to prevent disaster.
Set to a Korean cover of Green Day’s ‘American Idiot,’ the trailer also introduces Teo Yoo as Jang Kyun Kim, Owen’s new partner. The duo brings some comedic energy with fast-paced, action-packed scenes that echo classic buddy movies. A tagline in the trailer sums it up: ‘Saving the world takes a pair.’
Season 2 consists of six episodes, trimmed from eight in the first season, as reported by Deadline. Fans will remember the intense Season 1 cliffhanger, which involved Owen, Dawn, and Nichika. Early photos from the new season hint at a possible resolution to that storyline. Before we continue, here is the trailer:
The returning cast includes Aarti Mann, Fivel Stewart, Kaylah Zander, Colton Dunn, Kristian Bruun, Vondie Curtis-Hall, and Angel Parker. New faces like Young-Ah Kim, Felix Solis, and Do Hyun Shin join the mix, adding depth to the unfolding chaos.
Created by Alexi Hawley, who also serves as showrunner, the series brings back its strong creative team, including Centineo as an executive producer. Lionsgate Television continues as the studio behind this gripping thriller.
Mark your calendars: Season 2 of The Recruit premieres on Netflix on January 30.
