More than two years ago, there was news that Noah Centineo was in negotiations for the role of He-Man in the film Masters of the Universe, which is being prepared by Sony Pictures and Mattel Films. However, it seems that Centineo eventually gave up the role and the search for a new lead actor began again.

Aaron and Adam Nee are supposed to direct the film and sign the screenplay, which has had several screenplays over the last few years. David S. Goyer made the first version of the screenplay, and the story was sketched by Christopher Yost, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, but the screenplay will eventually be made by the directors themselves.

Centineo was to find himself in the role of Prince Adam / He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, who must fight the evil Skeletor to save the planet Eternia and protect the secrets of the Gray Skull castle. A Centine spokesman confirmed the young actor was no longer part of the project, but did not reveal the reason for his departure.

The new film Lords of the Universe will be based on the popular animated series and line of toys from the 1980s. The animated series aired from 1983 to 1985 and followed Prince Adam, heir to the throne of Eternia who has the Sword of Power, a weapon that gives him the power to turn into the most powerful man in the universe, He-Man.

The series already served as the inspiration for the film in 1987, when Dolph Lundgren was in the lead role. When we will have the opportunity to watch the new film in cinemas is not yet known.
