The Game Awards recently announced their nominees, and some ‘Palworld’ enthusiasts are upset that the game didn’t receive any nominations.

‘Palworld,’ known for its unique blend of monster-catching and combat mechanics, has garnered a significant player base since its release in January. Despite its popularity, it was absent from categories like ‘Best Ongoing Game’ at the awards.

Addressing the community’s concerns, John Buckley, ‘Palworld’s’ community manager, shared his thoughts on Twitter. He stated, ‘No, I don’t think Palworld was snubbed. Twitter has become such a banterless place. Stop being so over dramatic gamers. Not everything is a conspiracy.’ Buckley emphasized that not every omission indicates bias or oversight.

While he downplayed the controversy surrounding ‘Palworld’s’ absence, Buckley did express a personal opinion about another game. He mentioned, ‘That being said… Satisfactory was 1000% snubbed and I’ll be voicing that opinion ad nauseam at The Game Awards in person.’ This comment highlights that even industry insiders have their own favorites they feel deserve recognition.

Currently, ‘Palworld’s’ developer, Pocketpair, is dealing with legal challenges. In September, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging patent infringement. Pocketpair has responded by detailing the specific patents in question and stated that they will ‘continue to assert our position in this case through future legal proceedings.’

In summary, while some players are disappointed by ‘Palworld’s’ absence from The Game Awards nominations, the game’s community manager urges a more measured response. Meanwhile, the developer is focused on addressing ongoing legal matters.
