Star Wars fans can slowly get ready for something special in 2025. Namely, as the main cinematic series is evolving, the comic book franchise is following its on path with old and new titles that are expanding the well-known lore, and one such title is coming to us very, soon.

Namely, Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories—Codebreaker is a new comic mini-series set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Force Awakens. This series will focus on Poe Dameron and his trusty droid, BB-8, as they team up for an exciting mission against the First Order.

The comic is written by Ethan Sacks, known for his work on Star Wars: Bounty Hunters, and features Marc Yarza on art, Jose Marzan Jr. on inking, and Nicola Righi on colors. The lettering is done by Comicraft. Expect some stunning covers by Diego Galindo, with variants by Pye Parr and Sean Gordon Murphy.

The story picks up with Poe Dameron, a skilled pilot for the Resistance, and his loyal astromech droid BB-8. They’re tasked with a dangerous mission to investigate First Order tech that’s being used to decode Resistance messages.

But standing in their way is a well-known TIE fighter pilot, ready to put their skills to the test. Will Poe’s flying skills be enough to complete the mission, or will the Resistance suffer another setback? The action is sure to heat up, as per the official synopsis:

Poe Dameron is a confident, hotshot ace Resistance pilot. He and his outspoken droid companion, BB-8, have seen plenty of action against the First Order. Now, they are sent on a mission to investigate a piece of First Order tech used to decode Resistance messages, but standing between them and their objective is an infamous TIE fighter pilot. Can Poe out-fly his enemy, or will the mission go down in flames before it begins?

This mini-series will be available in April 2025, with issue #1 launching on April 9. You can grab it for $4.99 at your local comic store, so make sure to pre-order if you’re a fan of Poe and BB-8. The series will run for four issues, and it’s set to be an exciting addition to the Star Wars universe.

For Ethan Sacks, writing this series is a dream come true, as AIPT reports. Reflecting on his experience, he shared: ‘A decade ago, I sat in a Hollywood theater for the world premiere of The Force Awakens as a reporter. I was captivated by Oscar Isaac’s performance as Poe and that charming, rolling astromech by his side. Little did I know, I’d get to add to their stories as part of this celebration.

So, if you’ve been a fan of Poe and BB-8 since The Force Awakens, or just love anything Star Wars, don’t miss out on this mini-series. Head to your local comic shop and mark your calendars for April 9, 2025. It’s going to be an adventure you won’t want to miss.
