‘Power Book IV: Force’: When Will Season 2 Be Released? Does Tasha Join Tommy?

Share:

The Power Book IV: Force premiere in 2022 broke Starz’s viewership records with 3.3 million views in the US. Power Book II: Ghost’s ninth episode teased the possibility of a crossover between the two spinoffs with Tommy facing off with Tariq; therefore, anticipation for Force Season 2 is higher than ever. Tasha is also missing in Ghost, and Tommy is the likely culprit, so fans are justified to wonder whether she will join him in Chicago in Force. But, first of all, everyone wants to know when season 2 of Power Book Iv: Force will be released.

On March 9, 2022, Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch announced that Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy Egan, would be retained for another season of Power Book IV: Force. On May 14, 2023, Sikora tweeted that the release date for Season 2 would be announced in 10 days. Starz confirmed the release date as September 1 on May 22, accompanied by a 35-second teaser. Crossover episodes between Ghost and Force have happened before and are likely to happen with Tasha and probably 2 Bit appearing in Force.

Sikora’s tweet raised eyebrows as many hope that Starz will continue its trend of releasing Force immediately after Ghost as it did with the first season. The ninth episode of Ghost pointed at a more ruthless Tommy in the show’s second season, and fans can’t wait to see if a Tommy VS Tariq war ends up happening. So, when will the first episodes of Force air on Starz, and who will be starring? Let’s delve into it.

When will Power Book IV: Force Season 2 be released?

The first episode of Force Season 2 will air on September 1, 2023, as announced by Starz on May 22, 2023.

Sarz announced on March 9, 2023, that Power Book IV: Force would get a second season, and Joseph Sikora would retain his role as Tommy.

It was also announced that Robert Munic, the first season’s showrunner, had left the team because of creative differences and that Gary Lennon, the co-showrunner of the original Power show, would be the showrunner for Season 2.

Courtney Kemp and Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) were retained as the series creators by Jeffrey Hirsch as he announced the expansion of the show’s cast.

Joseph Sikora’s tweet suggested that the first episodes of Power Book IV: Force’s second season would air between August and September of 2023, following the same trend as Ghost, which was announced in December 2022 to be released in March 2023.

Who stars in Power Book IV: Force Season 2?

Starz hasn’t announced any specific names regarding the Cast, although the CEO said the second season would have new cast members.

The teaser for season 2 only had Joseph Sikora in his role as Tommy, which makes it difficult to predict cast members that may have left the show.

Variety confirmed in June that four new cast members had been included for the second season, confirming Hirsch’s comments.

Variety named You and Chicago PD star Carmela Zumbado, Queen of the South’s Manuel Ramirez Eduardo, and Law And Order: Organized Crime’s Adriene Walker as the new additions to the cast.

Zumbado will play Mireya Garcia, the sister of Chicago’s most dangerous Mexican Drug Dealer.

Ramirez will play the new role of a villain named Miguel Garcia, while Walker will portray the strong-willed former boxer, now gym owner, Shianti “Showstopper” Page.

Miriam A Hyman, who already appeared in One episode as Stacy Marks, will also become a series regular, playing the US attorney on the hunt for drug dealers.

The expected returnees include Lili Simmons as Claudia Flynn, Tommy Flanagan as Walter Flynn, Isaac Keys as Diamond Sampson, Anthony Flemming as Tommy’s brother JP and Shane Harper as Vic Flynn.

The one obvious exit is Audrey Esparza, who plays Liliana, as her character was shot in the chest at point-blank range, and onscreen deaths in Power don’t tend to be reversed.

Joseph Sikora confirmed that Esparza chose to leave the show before the end of the first season leading to her character being killed off.

Will Tasha St. Patrick feature in Power Book IV: Force?

The appearance of Tommy in Power Book II: Ghost suggests that the events in the third season of Ghost will spill over into the second season of Force.

The two main characters likely to join Tommy in Chicago are 2 Bit and Tasha St. Patrick.

With Tariq having lost his trust fund in the Weston Holdings Ponzi Scheme, Tasha and her daughter can no longer rely on his inheritance to keep them safe.

It is, therefore, reasonable for Tasha to come out of hiding and fight to make a living, and Tommy’s new venture in Chicago is just as good a place to start as any other.

After she snitched on him to save herself, the animosity between Tommy and Tasha might stand in the way of a smooth partnership, but that doesn’t mean it is impossible.

However, it hasn’t been announced whether Naturi Naughton, who plays Tasha, and Michael J Ferguson, who plays 2 Bit, will also join the Force cast.

The events in Ghost still strongly point to the possibility of more crossover scenes. Naughton also confirmed in November 2022 that Tasha was still alive, although there is no news of the character becoming a series regular in any of the spinoffs.
