Gunn has previously discussed the movie's main villain, confirming that Lex Luthor will take center stage as the villain. There are also rumors and leaks suggesting that Ultraman could appear as another danger that Superman will have to face. This will mark a significant shift from the DCEU, where General Zod was the first major Superman villain. Zod, one of DC's most iconic antagonists, appeared in both 'Man of Steel' and 'The Flash.' However, it's important to note that the version of Zod in 'The Flash' was played by Michael Shannon but was technically a variant of the original character. If Gunn ever chooses to revisit the villain, Rahul Kohli recently expressed his interest in playing Zod in the newly established DCU. Rahul Kohli is known for his roles in 'iZombie,' where he played the charming but quirky Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, and 'The Haunting of Bly Manor,' where he portrayed the tragic character Owen. The actor recently revealed that he was in the running for the role of Reed Richards but ultimately lost it to 'The Last of Us' star Pedro Pascal. He shared mixed feelings, acknowledging his disappointment but also seeing it as a reminder of the competitive nature of the industry.
