Release Date for Demon Slayer Episode 9 Season 2 Confirmed

Demon Slayer fans have been on the edge of their seats ever since the official release of season 2 in October 2021. Waiting for new episodes, week to week, the next installation in the season following a new story arc is coming to Funimation and Crunchyroll. Netflix is still only airing season 1 of Demon Slayer.

The last episode in the second season was pretty intense as fans from around the world shared their reviews on the way Tanjiro’s story is unraveling. Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu are headed for the city lights and are set to leave the seemingly cradled lush villages in search of demons.

Tanjiro witnessed the end of the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, one of the nine strongest and greatest Demon Slayers in the Corps. In episode 8 season 2, the viewers said goodbye to Rengoku as he was defeated by Akaza, an upper rank Three demon and one of the Twelve Kizuki. Rengoku’s dramatic death wasn’t in vain as Akaza was nearly slain in the battle and would have been if Tanjiro had a chance to finish him off.

Mugen Train arc ended with Rengoku’s death, marking the beginning of a new journey for Tanjiro and his companions. With the premiere of a double-feature episode titled “Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui,” the fans were introduced to a new arc involving the Entertainment district. The next episode is dubbed “Infiltrating the Entertainment District,” while the title itself reveals the episode plot to some extent.

Season 2 Episode 9 Release Date

The new episode 9 will be officially aired on Sunday, December 12th, 2021. The episode should reveal more details involving the new arc and Tanjiro’s latest mission. Funimation and Crunchyroll will air the new episode worldwide, so viewers can watch episode 9 on their favorite streaming platforms.
