There’s been talk for a while now about a World War Hulk movie, but it looks like things have changed. Instead of a direct adaptation, the story could be heading in a new direction.

After Thor: Ragnarok took a lot from Planet Hulk, the MCU has been focused on Hulk’s evolution, particularly Bruce Banner becoming Smart Hulk. This may be why we’re hearing about a World War Hulk movie instead.

The shift could be a way to build on what She-Hulk: Attorney at Law started, with Captain America: Brave New World expected to set up even more. Though the movie hasn’t been officially confirmed, insider scooper @MyTimeToShineH has now confirmed that World War Hulks (the title is not a typo) is in development, via ComicBookMovie.com.

This could tie into the upcoming Mutant Saga of the MCU, and there’s also buzz about a possible Hulk vs. Wolverine movie. It’s possible the MCU’s new Logan might be sent by Department H to hunt down the Hulk, which could make for some exciting action.

Insiders have hinted that Bruce Banner’s worst fears might come to life. The idea is that governments around the world could create their own Hulks, forcing Bruce into a situation where he faces off against his own creations.

We may even see Savage Hulk return, which could set the stage for an epic battle with President Ross, who is expected to become Red Hulk soon.

As of now, the MCU has at least three Hulks, the Abomination, and there are rumors that Amadeus Cho could soon join the ranks. Add in The Leader and the stage is set for a massive, worldwide fight.

With all these Hulks in play, it’s clear this project has the potential for some unforgettable battles. Fans could hear more at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con or D23. Stay tuned!
