RWBY Season 9 trailer

You now know all the facts and our thoughts related to RWBY Season 9, and while you might have thought otherwise, there is currently no trailer for the upcoming fourth season of RWBY. We do know that the season is going to air sometime in 2022, but we do not know how advanced the production is at the moment, so it might be a couple of months before we actually see a trailer, depending on when Crunchyroll plans to release the show. The only thing we have is a small sneak peek for the upcoming season:

As we have said, RWBY was a very likely candidate for a return from the very beginning. The series was enormously popular when it debuted on Crunchyroll and it has a large fandom; on top of that, the creators behind the series certainly have plans for more stories, which is absolutely great. Luckily enough, Crunchy roll has been very kind to the idea itself.

Taking into account everything we’ve said, a trailer for RWBY Season 9 is going to premiere soon. It might be weeks or a couple of months, but we assume that we are going to see at least a teaser before the end of summer this year, unless, of course, Netflix decides to push back the season’s premiere.

RWBY Season 9 plot

As you might have guessed, RWBY is an original animated series, which means that it is not based on any preexisting work. This means that we don’t actually know much about the plot of Season 9 of RWBY, save for the fact that the protagonists are going to face new threats of various origins, but that’s pretty much it as far as we know. Because of that, we are going to give you an overview of the plot so far.

The story takes place in the world of Remnant, which is invaded by supernatural forces and dark beings called “Creatures of Grimm”. Prior to the events of the story, humanity was locked in a war to survive the Grimm before discovering a mysterious element they called “dust”, which helped humanity fight the monsters.

Today, the powder is used by humans in combination with weapons or their own body, giving a person magical abilities. Those who fight against the Grimm are called hunters. The protagonists, each with their own weapons and abilities, form the RWBY team within the Beacon Academy, which trains young people from the age of 17 to train them as hunters, warriors whose purpose is to protect the inhabitants of the city of Vale and of all Remnant.

A new year and thus new students arrive at Beacon Academy. Ruby Rose has managed to access the academy even though she is only 15 years old thanks to her talent. Also, Ruby travels with her sister Ella Yang. The first tests will begin in Beacon and the young Ruby will have to form her own group and forge new friendships that will accompany her throughout the course of the story.

Among them are Weiss and Blake, who will be part of her team. Blake was right. Roman Torchwick and the White Fang are planning something big, but no one at Beacon seems to notice and Blake begins to lose his temper. With no one making the first move, RWBY will investigate the unfolding events on their own to find out what Roman and the bloody faun organization causing trouble in Vale are up to. The tournament date has arrived.

Teams from all the Remnant schools prepare for the competition, and Team RWBY takes the opportunity to take a break after knocking Torchwick off the map. However, the peace is not lasting when it comes to the story of the protagonists. It has already been confirmed that Roman and the White Fang were secretly up to something, however, Roman has been arrested and someone is still pulling the strings.

The third volume will undoubtedly be the most decisive of the previous ones. Beacon students will have to face a threat of dimensions that no one could have imagined. The Beacon academy has fallen and the RWBY team has completely separated, in this volume the past of several characters will be revealed along with the self-improvement journeys of the protagonists.

Ruby decides to travel to Mistral, Yang with the support of her father considers her future and her family, Weiss deals with her family problems and the responsibility of being a “Schnee”, and finally, Blake returns to her birthplace, the land of the Fauns, in addition to the appearance of a young man named Oscar, related to the “protectors of the world”.

The RNJR team and Qrow finally reach Mistral where to their surprise they find Oscar and Ozpin. Weiss and Yang plan to meet their team but have a detour with Raven, while Blake along with his family and Sun must deal with conflict developing in the Menagerie. Meanwhile, Salem makes her moves against Mistral with the help of Leonardo Lionheart, who only colludes with her out of fear.

RWBY Season 9 cast

It’s still too early for us to discuss the upcoming ninth season of RWBY in terms of cast and characters, simply because it’s an original story and we don’t know all of the characters. But, knowing that the earlier seasons had a more or less fixed main cast, we really don’t expect to see too many changes in the structure of season nine, when it actually arrives on Crunchyroll. • Lindsay Jones as Ruby Rose
  • Kara Eberle as Weiss Schnee

  • Samantha Ireland as Nora Valkyrie

Where to watch RWBY Season 9?

The streaming history of RWBY is a complex one. The series’ main distributor is, of course, Crunchyroll and you can expect the ninth season to be on the streaming service as well. Other places where you can stream it are Netflix (partially) and Amazon Prime Video, but we don’t know whether these streaming services are going to offer the show immediately or at a later date.

Will there be a Season 10 of RWBY?

The future of RWBY is, as of this moment, unknown. We know that the show has been renewed for a Season 9, which is going to be released in 2022, and that there probably are plans for additional seasons, but whether we’ll be seeing a tenth season is still unknown at this moment. If the show does well, we’re certain that RWBY will be returning for at least one more season after the upcoming one.
