She-Hulk vs. Thor: Who Would Win & Why?

She-Hulk vs. Thor: Who Would Win & Why?

She-Hulk aka Jennifer Walters is a new Marvel’s character introduced into the MCU in her own Disney+ TV series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. She is insanely strong and smart, but is she a match for the God of Thunder, Thor himself? In this article, we will go in-depth about their abilities and determine who would win in a fight, She-Hulk or Thor.

Thor would win in a fight against She-Hulk. We will put their physiologies, strengths, intelligence, and weaknesses to the test, to validate our answer. Plus, there is a moment in the comics that undisputable proves Thor would win in every fight.

To truly do these iconic characters justice, we will take a detailed look at their powers, and explain why Thor, in our opinion, is more powerful than She-Hulk. Let’s see what these Marvel heroes can do and let’s learn some more about She-Hulk, an MCU newcomer.

Jennifer Walter becoming She-Hulk

Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk is a lawyer and the cousin of Bruce Banner, The Hulk. She got a blood transfusion from the Hulk and then his gamma-irradiated blood mutated her into the She-Hulk. Just like Bruce Banner, she has a special gene mutation that helps her intake so much gamma radiation. Because of her gamma mutation, she is able to transform and her skin and hair turn green. She-Hulk grows a few inches and gains crazy amounts of muscle mass. Unlike The Hulk, she is able to retain her full intelligence and personality in almost every situation. Her mutation grants her, just to name a few, superhuman strength, superhuman leaping, superhuman speed, superhuman durability, and regenerative healing factor.

Thor, the son of Odin and an Asgardian, has incredible supernatural powers and superhuman attributes. After his father passed away he became the most powerful Asgardian within the Nine Realms and the cosmos. Most of the time Thor has to hold his powers back, so he doesn’t do too much damage to the surrounding, but notably, he is the only hero who made a successful attempt at severely wounding Thanos. Among other things, he possesses superhuman strength, superhuman speed, superhuman agility, superhuman stamina, etc. He has abilities far superior even to his species, only Hela and Odin could have rivaled him.

She-Hulk is an incredibly powerful superhero thanks to gamma radiation, but she is no match for Thor. Thor is a literal god, and he is the most powerful among Asgardians, an ancient alien civilization.

Strength

She-Hulk vs. Thor: Who Would Win & Why?

She-Hulk has superhuman strength. When is Hulked-out, green, and big, She-Hulk can lift over 75 tons. Her normal She-Hulk form, except for turning her green, makes her gain muscle mass. Then her legs are sufficiently strong enabling for to leap at least 600 feet in the air and a surface distance of more than 1000 feet. One time in the comics, when she was enraged, she was able to jump from New York to Riker’s island, which is around 13 miles in one leap. But, what makes Jennifer Walter aka She-Hulk special is that even when she is completely calm, she is as strong as, or stronger than, god-like characters such as Thor or Hercules. You can say that strength is her greatest superhero attribute.

Thor is the strongest Asgardian alive. He can overpower hordes of humans or any species in or beyond the Nine Realms. He was even able to beat up The Hulk so much, that he broke his ribs, and jaw and punctured his lung. And for reference, The Hulk is 2.5 m tall and weighs about 600 kg. With the help of his Mjolnir, he has the ability to beat multiple enemies at the same time. With Mjolnir, his great is even more compounded. He is so strong only a few beings were able to overpower Thor, including Hela, Odin, and Thanos. Thor’s power is cosmic, but if you ever wondered how much can Thor lift, we got you covered.

It is not easy to compare the strength of a god to a human, but when it comes to strength She-Hulk and Thor are equal. Of course, we are talking about raw strength, meaning we are not going to take into account the power-up Thor has when he uses Mjolnir or Stormbreaker. When we add up the points for strength the score looks like this:

Intelligence

She-Hulk comes from a family of geniuses, and she is smart almost like Bruce Banner. Her first appearance in the MCU is in the TV series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where we will watch her being an incredible lawyer. Her credentials are mind-blowing, she attended UCLA School of Law and Harvard Law School. In her practice, she represents criminal defendants, corporations, and even domestic violence victims. She is hired as a lawyer for the Superhuman Law division of the New York firm of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway (GLK&H). Her brilliant legal mind, helps her navigate the She-Hulk persona more easily, well most of the time.

Thor is famous for many things: being a god, having one eye, and copping Thanos’ head off, but being smart isn’t one of them. But, he has his shining moments for example he can predict Loki’s mischief most of the time and he made Valkyrie King of New Asgard. Most of his intelligence comes with his age (he is more than 1500 years old) and battle experience. He has some knowledge of  “space physics stuff” and he is highly skilled- he can fly literally any spaceship. And one thing is for sure, he is never the dumbest person in the room when The Hulk is present.

When it comes to intelligence, Thor is no match for She-Hulk. She is an attorney at law, with incredible credentials, coming from a family of low-key geniuses. While Thor has a lot of experience and knowledge, especially useful in combat, his intelligence is pretty average.

Greatest Weaknesses

In the final round, we have to examine our heroes’ weaknesses. She-Hulk has the same problem as her cousin, Bruce Banner aka The Hulk. Her power comes from anger, but she can manage anger. True mayhem comes when she gets so mad, that she becomes careless. In every situation, The Hulk is stronger than She-Hulk because she can retain her intelligence and Jennifer Walters persona, but there are situations where she is so angry she can’t control herself. If she is tipped over her maximum amount of rage, her mind gets clouded with rage and her fighting skills suffer and she is vulnerable, even though she is stronger than usual.

Even though he is a god, Thor still has weaknesses. He can be very influenced by his emotions, especially towards his brother Loki. The trust in Loki almost always backfires, and Loki’s betrayals hurt Thor. As he has been alive for more than 1500 years and for all of them he has been a warrior. In comics, we can see he became a subject to the “warrior madness” which is a good and a bad thing. Every time he gets pushed to the brink, he becomes a lunatic, prone to violent outbursts and fits of rage. In this state he is unbeatable, but he becomes homicidal and he doesn’t know who is a friend and who is a foe.

If She-Hulk reaches her maximum powers, it means is enraged beyond measurement. Making her maximum strength, her greatest weakness. Thor’s weaknesses don’t really depict the lack of strength or power, but they reveal his “human”, emotional side. Which still doesn’t give his enemy a big advantage in beating him. This final point goes to Thor because his weaknesses aren’t going to be the end of him, in most cases.

She-Hulk Vs Thor: Who Wins?

She-Hulk lost to a Thor clone

In the end, Thor would beat She-Hulk in every fight. We thoroughly examined their physiology, strength, intelligence, and their greatest weaknesses. Thor is almost superior in every category, except in strength and intelligence. She-Hulk is one of the strongest superheroes, and so is Thor, but her intelligence is superior to Thor’s.

To seal this victory, we can find the definite answer in the What If? comic Civil War #1’s “What If Captain America Led All the Heroes Against Registration?”- by Kevin Grevioux and Gustavo Duarte. Long story short, there is an army of Thor clones who go against heroes like Carol Danvers aka Captin Marvel, She-Hulk, and many others. During the battle, Carol Danvers gets downed by lightning, while She-Hulk has her neck snapped by a single clone, proving that her regular form is no match for even a clone of the God of Thunder.
