Shepard Voice Actress Jennifer Hale Believes the Original Cast Should Come Back for 'Mass Effect' Series

In November, Amazon revealed they’re working on a Mass Effect TV series. Jennifer Hale, the voice behind Commander Shepard, recently told Eurogamer she’s eager to join the project and hopes the original cast can be part of it too.

Hale expressed her excitement, saying she’s always open to reprising her role as Shepard: ‘You will always get a yes vote from me on Shepard coming back in any form. That was such a gift, and it’s a gift I will always be extremely joyful to receive.’ One big question, though, is whether Shepard in the show will be male or female.

Hale isn’t one to tell creators what to do, but she’s clear on one thing: ‘The only thing I must say about that TV series is I want to play! Any capacity, I will be there with bells on!’ She also hinted she’d love FemShep to be the show’s main version of the character.

Bringing in the original cast is something Hale strongly supports. She believes it would be a ‘genius move’ to feature them in cameos or recurring roles. Hale praised her fellow voice actors, calling them some of the most talented people she’s ever worked with.

Meanwhile, a new Mass Effect game is in the works, promising to continue the story from the original trilogy. While details are scarce, fans are buzzing about the possible return of the Paragon/Renegade morality system, which BioWare’s Michael Gamble recently addressed.

Hale, for her part, is ready for any role in the series or the game. ‘I have no idea [what to expect], except I’d love to be there. That’s all I’m gonna say. Hey, team, hey, team, wherever you are in any capacity, I’d love to be there!’ she added enthusiastically.
