Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Is a Great Guy & His MCU Kill Count Actually Confirms That
Superheroes and other comic book characters typically deal a lot of damage when they battle. Of course, the superheroes don’t mean for this to happen, but whether they like it or not, damage and casualties do happen. However, there are instances when heroes intentionally kill because it is the only way to defeat their enemies and achieve victory.
Superheroes like Batman or Superman may embrace a “no-kill” policy, but this is an exception rather than a rule. Whether they are monsters, extraterrestrials, or other enemies, superheroes typically don’t hesitate to kill them.
In light of that, we are going to talk about the kill count of a very important comic book character, or, more specifically, about the kill count of his version from the MCU. The character in question is Spider-Man, who is perceived to be a good guy in the MCU, and as you will be able to see, his actual kill count confirms it!
The source for the data we have for you is a list from IMDb, composed by user Creedswede, who made an effort to chronicle the kill count of all major and minor MCU characters, with several important notes. Based on the data he has presented, Spider-Man’s kill count is as follows:
- Avengers: Endgame – 16
- Total kills: 16+
Additionally, he made appearances in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, but he had no kills in those movies, which is very interesting seeing how he had substantial roles in all of them (save for Venom, where his appearance was a cameo).
As you can observe here, Spider-Man’s actual kill count is insignificant in relative terms, and when you consider that he killed Thanos’ alien henchmen in Endgame, well… then it is almost insignificant in absolute terms as well.
This actually supports the image that Holland’s Spider-Man has, which is the image of a good and friendly superhero who uses his powers only for the greater good and not to destroy his enemies; in fact, he does not kill unless it is absolutely necessary, but we don’t think that he has a “no-kill” policy. It’s probably that the MCU doesn’t want a child to be going around and killing people frivolously.
Be that as it may, with many rumored and even scheduled future appearances – solo movies, Avengers movies, even a planned crossover with the Venom movies and the SSU – it is likely that the kill count is going to increase, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
These numbers have been updated as of Deadpool & Wolverine, where Spider-Man did not appear, so we can assume that they are accurate.
