Ranker is a popular place on the Internet where people can rank whatever they want, however, they want, and whenever they want. This is always a fan-focused ranking system, and it is never officially tied to the people behind the projects in question. Recently, a large survey was organized on Ranker, whose goal was to determine the best Spider-Man movies. The list includes a total of 11 movies, and in our report, we are going to bring you all of them to provide you with better insight, combined with our original comments and opinions, which will add flavor to the whole report.

Of course, since this is indeed an important list, we have decided to report on it, so we are going to bring you the results by listing the best Spider-Man movies, beginning with the 11th-placed one until we reach the best one. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

11. Spider-Man (1977)

The 1977 made-for-television Spier-Man movie is a film that most of you probably haven’t seen, if you’ve even heard about it. It was a solid outing for the time being, but ultimately a movie that did absolutely no justice to the character. You cannot blame it for being bad, it was the late 1970s and no one cared for such movies, but it explains why the movie ended up in last place.

10. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

This is definitely an unjust ranking, as Garfield’s movies weren’t that bad. They tried to copy off of Raimi’s movies a bit too much, but they weren’t bad and Garfield had a specific charisma. We would definitely rank them in front of the first two Holland movies and Raimi’s final film, so while we’re not saying they are the best, we cannot agree with this ranking personally.

9. Spider-Man 3

Raimi’s final film was a mess. It wasn’t horrible, but it was a mess as a standalone movie, and it was even worse when you compare it to the first two movies, especially the second. It had a lot of cringe, and a lot of poorly executed moments, and nothing worked for this movie, which is why it deservedly ended the franchise. Personally, we’d put this one in tenth place.

8. The Amazing Spider-Man

Everything we’ve said about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, we could say about this one as well. A decent movie with some bad decisions, The Amazing Spider-Man doesn’t deserve all the hate it’s getting and it is at worst a solid or okay superhero movie, but definitely not something bad or something that should constantly be criticized, as Garfield’s two movies often are.

7. Spider-Man: Far From Home

Whatever you may think of Holland as Spider-Man and his three MCU movies, they are not that good. They are made for teenagers at best and while they had very convincing villains – Mysterio saves this movie, to be frank – their overall storyline and character development were feeble and not as good as Marvel would like you to think, but fair enough. We’d put this one in eighth place.

6. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

We’re actually surprised that the animated movies ranked this “poorly” as they are truly amazing. And while the second movie could’ve come off as a bit confusing due to all the variants and the fact that it is not finished, it’s still a great outing and a visual spectacle that we’d rank in the top five without hesitating. It is definitely better than Holland’s Spider-Man movies.

5. Spider-Man: Homecoming

To be frank, this is the worst Tom Holland Spider-Man movie and a movie that was made for kids, while pretending to not be a movie that was made for kids. It relied a lot on the symbolism and Michael Keaton did an amazing job as the villain, but aside from that – it did not offer much. In all honesty, we’d put this movie in ninth place, so nowhere near the top five.

4. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

This was an absolute spectacle that – in our opinion – deserved second place. It was a visual marvel, it had a great story, amazing character development, and a lot of emotion, which is why it was so special and why so many people loved it. It also won an Oscar and is definitely one of the best Spider-Man movies of all time.

3. Spider-Man (2002)

Sam Raimi’s first film was something special, not just as a standalone movie, but also as a piece of history. And while it was not the first successful superhero movie, it raised the bar very high and showed us what CGI could do back in 2002, which the fans absolutely loved. But it also showed us that you can have sparkly effects and preserve a good story at the same time, which is why we agree with this listing.

2. Spider-Man: No Way Home

No, this movie wasn’t as good, but it is the best Holland Spider-Man movie, which is why we’d give it the fourth spot, to be frank. What saved this movie was the return of Tobey and Andrew, as well as some of the old villains, but it was still a narrative mess that relied more on the symbolism than the actual story, which is why we don’t think it deserves to be her, but it is a top five entry nevertheless.

1. Spider-Man 2

Yours truly would’ve been angry had this movie not been the best one. Sam Raimi’s second movie is one of the best examples of how to make a great comic book movie and it can stand proudly among the best, including Burton’s early Batman films, Donner’s Superman films, and Nolan’s Batman trilogy. It had emotional depth, it had a great storyline, brilliant character development, and an unforgettable Doc Ock whom Molina played brilliantly, and that is why it is the best.
