Sports Anime ‘Aoashi’ Releases First Key Visual, April Premiere Confirmed

Additional cast members as well as the first key visual for the upcoming sports anime Aoashi by Yugo Kobayashi were released on February 9 on the anime’s official website. The additional cast members announced are Shunsuke Takeuchi as Nagisa Akutsu and Yuichiro Umehara as Haruhisa Kuribayashi. 

The anime is set to air on April 9th on NHK E- Tele every Saturday at 18: 25 (JST).

The thrilling sports anime Aoashi follows high school students struggling to become professional soccer players. Their ultimate goal is to become part of the Japan National Team and play in the Olympic Games. The key visual features protagonist Ashita Aoi alongside his coach and other teammates.

On October 29, last year, the teaser promotional video (PV) for the sports anime was released on SHOPRO’s official YouTube account. You can watch the PV below. 

The newly released cast members shared a few comments on their upcoming roles. Takeuchi comments that anyone who enjoys soccer or is trying to achieve a goal in life will relate to Aoashi. He says that every character is doing their best to achieve one unified goal.

Umehara agrees with Takeuchi and is looking forward to portraying the passionate character of Haruhisa Kuribayashi. He describes Aoashi as a passionate sports anime that will get people excited. He also said that this is his first time reading a soccer-related work so a lot of the aspects about it intrigued him.
