Star Trek: Prodigy – Meet the Kathryn Janeways Hologram!

Star Trek: Prodigy, Meet the Kathryn Janeway Hologram!

The New York Comic Con also brought news for an animated series focused on a younger Star Trek: Prodigy audience. The lucky ones who found themselves on the horse also had the opportunity to watch the first episode of the series.

For the rest of us mortals, the most significant news is the official confirmation of Robert Beltran’s return (after weeks of whispering about it). As part of the panel, Paramount Plus has announced new cast members who will lend their voices to more important repetitive characters.

These are Daveed Diggs as Commander Tysess who is Andorian, Jameela Jamil as Ensign Asencia who is Tril, Jason Alexander as Dr. Noum who is Telarit and Robert Beltran as the well-known Chakotay (but this time as Captain Chakotay). Also on the panel was revealed the first clip from the series that gave us a concrete look at the Kathryn Janeway hologram (Kate Mulgrew).

The plot follows a group of colorful young aliens who have to figure out how to collaborate together as they navigate through space, in search of a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they took on – for the first time in the history of the Star Trek franchise – but during their joint adventures, each will be introduced to the Starfleet and the ideals it represents.

The clip introduces us to a holographic version of Captain Janeway designed to assist in the ship’s lower functions and to guide a young crew as they travel through space. The new clip also reveals the new crew’s first contact with the hologram.

Star Trek: Prodigy with its premiere episode on Paramount Plus arrives on October 28th.
