Star Wars Day: Disney has unveiled a video of the first ‘real’ lightsaber!
As part of the Star Wars Day celebration on May 4 [May the 4th Be With You!], Disney unveiled the first video of its impressive ‘real’ or more realistic lightsaber. The very existence of the lightsaber was revealed last month during a press conference, but pictures or videos were not available until today when a teaser for the upcoming experience was released at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort.
It is not yet known whether these lightsabers will be available beyond the Resort or were created solely as an exclusive treat for those involved in what Disney describes as a “completely immersive two-day vacation experience”. In any case, based on the video, it can be concluded that these lightsabers are one of the central parts of the Galactic Starcruiser experience, which means that they will probably not be available before 2022, when it opens its doors in Florida. (Yes, we know, it’s not exactly in the neighborhood.)
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will offer fans a two-day vacation/adventure plan in which guests are on a Halycon boat trip and relive their own Star Wars story.
The May 4 celebration also includes new themed content on the Disney Plus platform, including the new animated short film The Force Awakens From Its Nap, in which The Simpsons take over the Star Wars franchise, as well as the premiere of the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Today began to be celebrated in 2008 on a Facebook group dedicated to Luke Skywalker. But the phrase did not become popular until 2011, when it began to be celebrated as Star Wars Day.
