We know that Warner Bros. is working on increasing its anime library, which is probably a move motivated by Netflix’s and Disney’s “attacks” on the anime market. And while Warner Bros. is slowly working towards its goal, we know that a major title is coming soon. Since Warner is the owner of the rights to DC’s series, they have decided to build on the success of the Batman-themed anime film, Batman Ninja, by creating an anime series based on DC’s characters. Suicide Squad ISEKAI will see the titular group of supervillains enter a “new world” to complete a mission and we have finally received a release window for the series, as well as a new character trailer.

The series was announced a while ago and will, according to Warner’s plans, be the first in a series of anime versions of DC’s stories. This won’t be the first time that Batman’s world enters the world of anime, as we’ve said, as we already have Batman Ninja, as well as Batman: Gotham Knight.

The anime will be a collaboration between Warner Bros. Japan and Wit Studio, the studio that brought us the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, as well as Ranking of Kings, Spy × Family, and the first seasons of The Ancient Magus’ Bride and Vinland Saga. The series was announced for 2024, and we can now confirm that it will be released in July 2024, with a precise date still pending. On top of that, a new character trailer featuring Harley Quinn was also released, which you can check out here:

An official poster highlighting some of the characters slated to appear in the series has also been released and here it is:

In the crime-ridden city of Gotham, Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark. These Super-Villains are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies—an “ISEKAI”!

With lethal explosives planted in their necks, there’s no running or hiding, and failing the mission means a one-way ticket to the afterlife! Can Harley Quinn and her crew conquer this perilous ISEKAI realm?! Brace yourselves for the pulse-pounding saga of the elite task force known as the “Suicide Squad” as they embark on a jaw-dropping adventure!
