Super Crooks Season 2: Release Date, Trailer, Plot, Cast and More
Super Crooks is hit Netflix on November 25, 2021. The show is an adaptation of Mark Millar’s 2012 four-issue comic book of the same name, and follows a group of supervillains as they plan on committing a crime in Spain. Super Crooks aired its 13-episode batch on Thursday and in this article, we are going to talk about a potential second season of the show.
Since Super Crooks is a fairly short comic book and the anime adaptation had a total of 13 episodes, without any new, original (sequel) content from Mark Millar, a second season seems highly unlikely.
The rest of this article is going to bring you all the known and unknown information related to a potential season 2 of Super Crooks. You’re going to find out about its potential release date, whether there is a trailer, what the story could be about, and much more about this great anime series.
Super Crooks season 2 release date
Super Crooks aired on November 25, 2021; the first season consisted of thirteen 30-minute episodes that followed Millar’s comic of the same name. As of the time of writing this article, Netflix hasn’t issued any information on a new season, and it’s probably going to be a while before they do. If they ever do.
Namely, Millar’s comic book is relatively short and there would need to be some original material for the show to continue (sequel material, not prequel material like Millar did with the first 10 episodes of the show), and we don’t know whether that’ll happen. As it stands now, Super Crooks seems more like a limited series than anything else, so a renewal seems to be unlikely.
Super Crooks season 2 trailer
Now that we’ve given you the main information, you have probably deduced yourselves that there is no trailer for the second season of Super Crooks simply because the season has not yet even been announced and we have our doubts that it ever will be.
Super Crooks is not a likely candidate for a renewal unless Millar himself writes some new content or gives a green light to the writers of the anime series, but until we actually get some official information from Netflix, we won’t know anything related to a trailer for a potential new season. Knowing Netflix, though, we’ll probably be getting a trailer around a month before the season releases, if we ever get to see that season.
Taking into account all of the delays, we could probably wait until late 2022, early 2023 to get some info on the new season’s trailer, but that makes sense only if Netflix confirms the show earlier.
Super Crooks season 2 plot
Johnny Lightning is a supervillain who relentlessly tries to make money by doing robberies in league with other masked criminals like him. Systematically each of their shots fails due to the intervention of the superhero who manages to defeat them. In his latest robbery, he is stopped without problems by the superhero The Gladiator and is sentenced to 5 years in prison.
After exiting he returns to his ex-girlfriend and ex-supervillain Kasey who now works as a waitress. Although she has psychic powers she now wants to lead a normal life and doesn’t want Johnny back in his life.
During their meeting, an elderly supervillain friend of theirs named Carmine also arrives and finds himself forced to raise $100 million to give to a casino in Las Vegas because he was caught cheating paired with a boy with foresight.
Johnny has a new plan to make a lot of money and that is to change the country and go to a state (other than the United States of America) where there are not hundreds of superheroes who then in the end always win by making theirs triumph. justice.
The chosen state is Spain, which apparently does not have superheroes and is the ideal country to implement Lightning’s plan. He manages to convince many of his fellow supervillains, some of whom are not even active anymore.
The group consists of Carmine, Kasey, The Phantom (no longer active burglar), TK McCabe (ex-supervillain with telekinesis powers), Prediction (ex-supervillain able to modify the weather), Roddy and Sammy Diesel (two semi-indestructible wrestlers fighting clandestine matches).
After arriving in Tenerife, Johnny manages to surprise another element in his group of criminals, it is the superhero The Gladiator. He is blackmailed as a homosexual and a frequenter of men he met online to whom he often sends erotic photos of himself. If this news were fed to the newspapers, his reputation as a great American superhero would be ruined.
At this point, Johnny reveals what his plan is and why they are in Spain. His goal is to rob the greatest supervillain of all time who is on the Iberian Peninsula enjoying a golden pension, unpunished for all his crimes. His name (or perhaps nickname) is simply The Bastard and it chills the blood of anyone who knows his cruelty and his criminal deeds.
With the help of all the members of the gang, Johnny manages to break into the safe under the Bastard’s villa and robs him of a briefcase containing values of 800 million dollars, 100 each at the end of the heist.
To keep the supervillain at bay, Kesey takes care of it with his psychic powers which creates the illusion of being in his residence when in reality he is in another place. As for his bodyguard with superman superpowers, the Gladiator takes care of him, beating him in a duel making him brain-damaged.
To avoid retaliation by the Bastard, the gang of Supercrooks carries out the robbery wearing the costumes of the supervillains to whom Carmine owed money, who are then tracked down and killed by the criminal boss, furious for the wrong suffered.
On the other hand, Johnny’s reasoning is simple: why put on your own costume (and therefore make yourself recognizable) when you can use someone else’s, thus changing your identity?
This is the known plot of Super Crooks and that, actually, includes the whole story. How Netflix plan to approach a potential second season is, as of this moment, completely unknown.
Super Crooks season 2 cast
The cast of Super Crooks probably won’t change very much for season two, since it has a relatively framed story with little to no side stories. We actually don’t know whether we’ll even see a second season of the show, but if we do, the cast from season one will probably return, and it includes:
