Starward Industries, the team behind ‘The Invincible’, has unveiled their next project: ‘Dante’s Ring’. This action-adventure RPG emphasizes survival and arcade elements, setting it apart by focusing on rescue missions rather than combat.
In ‘Dante’s Ring’, players assume the role of an explorer on a mysterious island during a sudden volcanic eruption. The primary objective is to save as many lives as possible while contending with natural disasters like lava flows, earthquakes, and intense fires. Equipped with fireproof armor and retro-style tools, players must navigate these hazards.
The game introduces an ‘anti-combat’ approach, prioritizing strategic planning and moral decisions over traditional fighting. Players will face choices that influence the storyline, challenging them to determine the lengths they’re willing to go to save others.
While a specific release date hasn’t been announced, ‘Dante’s Ring’ is expected to enter early access in 2025. The developers plan to keep it in early access until they achieve engaging gameplay and a compelling narrative. The early access version will be fully playable.
Starward Industries’ previous title, ‘The Invincible’, received praise for its adaptation of Stanisław Lem’s novel but was noted for its limited player impact on the story. With ‘Dante’s Ring’, the studio aims to offer a more interactive experience, focusing on survival and ethical choices.
