Netflix has finally released the first teaser trailer for the Sweet Tooth series, an adaptation of DC’s eponymous comic book series. The trailer reveals a first look at the character of Will Forte trying his best to protect the hybrid deer-boy from the bad people who still hunt his species. The creator and director of the series is Jim Mickle (Cold in July, In the Shadow of the Moon). The screenplay is written by Mickle and Beth Schwartz (Arrow), who are also showrunners. Executive producers are Mickle, Schwartz, Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey and Amanda Burrell.

Sweet Tooth is a family adventure that focuses on a very special deer-boy – Gus, who leaves his home in the woods to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a patched family of humans and hybrid child-animals like him, in search of answers about this new world and the mystery of its hybrid origins.

Starring Christian Convery (Beautiful Boy, Playing With Fire) as Gus, Nonso Anozie (Game of Thrones) as Tommy Jepperd, Adeel Akhtar (The Big Sick) as Dr. Singh, Aliza Vellani (Upload) as Rani Singh, Dania Ramirez (Once Upon a Time) as Aimee Eden, Neil Sandilands (The Flash) as General Abbot, Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) as Gus’s father and James Brolin (Amityville Horror, Westworld) as narrator.

Sweet Tooth arrives on Netflix on June 4 with all eight episodes of the first season.
