Deadpool is an antihero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Deadpool was created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefield and first appeared in New Mutants #98 back in 1991. Deadpool is best recognized for his violent attitude, dark humor, and scarred appearance. Over the years Deadpool appeared in numerous fictional works, as well as several movies and video games.
The first standalone Deadpool movie was released in 2016 and was directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds in the titular role. The movie was a success and was soon followed by Deadpool 2 released in 2018 and the as-of-yet unreleased movie Deadpool 3 set to be directed by Shawn Lewy once again starring Ryan Reynolds.
